The Trading Room: 17th February

WELCOME to the PlayUp Trading Room where you get insight on the days best bets, according to our traders.

Live from 9am everyday – let’s take a look at what’s on deck today;

Horse racing – Warrnambool

This 4-year-old gelding out of the Andrew Noblet yard is clearly the best bet of the day.

Did a few things wrong in his first campaign, but looks to have come back bigger and stronger after a 307-day spell.

Two very nice jump-outs where the last was in fast time and gets the huge jockey upgrade with John Allen now in the saddle.

Smart money jumped on the $2.70 when markets opened. Is definitely a go forward horse – maybe wait until jump time to confirm there is no bias/pattern that can hurt his chances.

Our best bet: Warrnambool Race 5, no. 6 – The Sistine Tales $2.20 at PlayUp

Market mover
Hallo Poppet $41.00 –> $21.00

This 6-year-old mare out of the Jeff Dunn yard is one of the biggest and sneakiest goes for the day.

Our smartest punters launched into the $41 and $10 the place when markets opened and it’s easy to see why.

Dropping back to the BM58 where she has placed 2nd from her last two starts in this grade and didn’t look to handle the heavy 9 of last starts Sunny Coast BM65.

Back on top of the ground today where she has placed over 50% of her career good track runs.

My only negative is the jockey downgrade of Rikki Jamieson in the saddle but her 4 wins from her last 100 rides hides the fact that she has also placed 18 times in that last 100 rides.

Place all day the bet at what should close in the vicinity of $6 the place.

Ipswich Race 7, no. 5 – Hallo Poppet $21.00 at PlayUp
