Racing Tips: 23rd March

Midweek racing coming from Sandown Hillside and Warwick Farm, take a look at the PlayUp form analyst selections below.

Sandown Hillside R2 #4 Belle Savoir $6.00 at PlayUp – Excited to see the return of this debut winner, who scored nicely at Ballarat before being immediately tipped out for a spell. She got back in running and let down the the fastest last 600m and 400m sectionals of the entire meeting to win that day, and gave the impression that she needed further too. First up here, and comes straight to 1300m which looks ideal for her, and she has drawn well in barrier three to boot.

Sandown Hillside R4 #6 Show Some Decorum $9.50 at PlayUp – This gelding is racing in career best form, and the Freedman camp have him absolutely flying of late. He was unlucky not to win at this track and distance two runs ago, pushing into the clear late and taking very good ground off Logan Street Lion, who he meets here again. Then last start in a very strong race in Adelaide, he was three wide without cover the entire way and did a super job to hold second. He is rock hard fit, finally draws a soft barrier, and gets the booking of D Lane as well.

Sandown Hillside R7 #2 Saint Of Katowice $4.20 at PlayUp – Keen to see this runner back in Melbourne, who was ok at Canterbury last start, but two previous runs this prep at Caulfield and here at Sandown are the benchmark for him. He should’ve won first up here over 1400m when getting no room at all in a crucial part of the race, and finished behind So Risque who has since won again. He was then only 4L off Paperboy in town, a horse who has since run second in black type races. Fourth up here, back to Melbourne, and the booking of J Kah is a big push.

Warwick Farm R1 #6 King Of Naples $2.50 at PlayUp – Very excited to see this J O’Shea debutant hit the track, coming off two very good trials on wet going lately. He won the latest, albeit only over 800m, with a leg in the air by a lazy 2L. The fact he is flying on wet tracks in trials can definitely translate to him winning on debut on similar heavy surfaces. James McDonald is booked to ride, and sticks on him after riding him in both trial runs lately. That is always a very strong sign, and from a nice draw expect him to be winning on debut.

Warwick Farm R8 #10 Arranmore $4.20 at PlayUp – Keen on the Waller/McDonald combination runner here, who is second up off a promising placing when fresh. She resumed over 1200m at Canterbury last start on a bottomless heavy 10, and was beaten under a length by the talented Ruby Kisses, and there was a massive gap back to third. Fitter now, and has drawn very nicely just a touch wider to find the best going. Clearly handles the wet, and was a winner in town last prep so this class is not beyond her. Can be winning the get out today.
