Racing Tips: 15th March

Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst

Sandown R2 #5 Fame $3.00 at PlayUp – Keen to see the return of this Moody runner, who has been a bit of a bridesmaid to start his career, although is yet to miss a place from four starts on the other hand. His form last prep reads very strong, including SP’ing favourite and running a close 2nd to Dunkel who as we know is now a multiple black type winner. He has run very well in both first up runs to date, and from a nice draw here with the leading stable rider engaged, I can’t see why this would be any different. Dry track should suit, can break through today.

Sandown R5 #5 Berry Bubbly $7.50 at PlayUp – Very deep into the prep and rock hard fit, this filly comes here off a very good formalise behind Foxicon in her last two starts at the Valley. That horse of Moody’s is very smart and even looks like a group level runner, so to have finished 2nd behind it both times is a strong form reference. Down in grade here and well weighted after the claim, I think she should appreciate this Hillside circuit that allows her to sit handy and run on.

Sandown R8 #13 Tobaysure $3.80 at PlayUp – Second up and coming off a good return behind Orange Ears at Wangaratta, and that galloper is extremely in form with a handful of wins on the bounce this prep. Second up with a great record at this stage, having run 2nd at both attempts, he finds himself in a very winnable BM70 to round out the program. Well weighted in relation to the field, carrying 2kg less than his nearest rival in the market, and maps better than that horse as well. Dry ground will really suit, as will the step up to 1400m.

Warwick Farm R5 #7 Pungo $2.70 at PlayUp – Second up here and very surprised about the price on offer, as I though he would be starting well south of the even money mark. He resumed a winner at Canterbury last start, coming from near last in a small field to nail the leader on the post. This horse SP’d as favourite in a G3 Carbine Club Stakes back in October last year, and only knocked up late after setting a very strong tempo in front. He is clearly group level with the right run, and now finds a BM78 second up and fitter into the prep. McDonald off due to suspension, but should be given every chance off barrier one with K McEvoy.

Warwick Farm R8 #10 Seven Sisters $6.00 at PlayUp – Third up and ready to win again, coming off a very good run at Canterbury behind Dashing Legend which now looks a great form reference. Her first up win at Wyong put the writing on the wall for a successful prep, and has since been back to the trials to tick over since last start. Godolphin horses have an excellent record third up, highlighted by In Secret’s win in the G1 Newmarket on the weekend. Maps nicely midfield, and gets the services of an in-form Chad Schofield.
