Racing Tips 15th December

MIDWEEK racing selections at Sandown and Wyong from the PlayUp form analyst.

Sandown Hillside:

R3 #3 Bunchan $20.00 at PlayUp
Good odds here about a horse who ran extremely well last start fresh on the Lakeside, finishing 2nd to the talented Pal D’Oro. He got back in running to an awkward spot on the fence, and behind a slow tempo was unlikely to win. He finished off in the fastest last 400m and 200m sectionals of the entire day, and it put the writing on the wall for a big run now second up. Drawn wide is fine, he will get back in running anyway, and should be able to run on uninterrupted down the outside.
R5 #8 Spooning $3.60 at PlayUp
First up here with the big booking of J Kah on, Spooning looks primed to return a winner. She was a very good first up winner last prep, putting a Pakenham maiden field away by 4L. She then placed in the Listed Adelaide Guineas, and ran very credibly in midweek races onwards. She clearly looks like a horse who flies at the beginning of the prep, so off some good jump outs leading into this and the right rider engaged, she could be hard to beat.
R6 #2 Pal D’oro $3.60 at PlayUp
Very good first up win from this Maher/Eustace galloper, sitting up on speed and putting away a strong field by over 2L. It was a great return to racing for the talented gelding, and with a low draw here again this afternoon he looks primed to go on with the job. Strips fitter for the win, sticks to the distance and the equal grade as well. He rises 2kg but in the grand scheme of things with a relatively weak race here, it should pose no issue. J Allen sticking is a cherry on top.
Wyong:

R4 #6 Snitzonfire $2.45 at PlayUp
This looks a cracking race for the 3 and 4 year olds, and the very talented Snitzonfire is a clear on top selection. A winner of three from four so far, he comes off a very close 4th in a Rosehill BM72, which for obvious reasons is a strong form line. He managed to beat Bend The Knee last prep, who has since won during the Flemington carnival in Melbourne. This horse is the older half brother to current Golden Slipper favourite Coolangatta, so the family clearly has good ability and expect it to be on show here.
R7 #4 Longbottom $4.20 at PlayUp
K Lees galloper who resumes here and boasts a very smart first up win record. She has won two of five first up runs, and has previously contested some strong black type races as well. She was given a very quiet Scone trial leading in, and will likely still hold residual fitness from a campaign that ended in mid-October in a very smart country sprint race at Taree. Only 57kg after the claim, and looks very well placed in this midweek BM64.
