Horse Racing Tips – Saturday 26th December

Welcome all to one of the greatest days in the entire calendar, an absolute cracker for all sports fans. We’ve got the test match, and not to mention a huge day of gallops action all around the country. Hopefully the festivities treated you all well yesterday, and to keep the celebrations rolling our form team has found five winners from across the land. Have a look at some tips from Caulfield and Randwick below.

Caulfield:

R3 #3 Ayrton $1.75 at PlayUp – Second up here for this very talented son of Iffraaj, who kicked off his racing career last start in fantastic style. Sent around a short favourite at Bendigo, he romped home by 5L to recorded a very impressive debut win. Comes straight up to a BM70 now, which is obviously a big jump in grade, but he looks to have an abundance of talent, and is suited by J Kah sticking aboard. The outside draw shouldn’t worry, his tactical gate speed should enable him to cross and lead, and control the race from there. Very hard to beat.

R8 #7 Tavidance $2.25 at PlayUp – Fourth up now into the prep, and finally broke through again last start at Pakenham over the 1600m, recording a very comfortable 4L win. I think he is right at his peak now in the prep, and 1700m now in a Listed race looks right up his alley. There is no doubt that he is right up to this grade, and even so this doesn’t look the strongest listed event I’ve seen at Caulfield. With a genuine speed expected, he should be able to find a position around midfield with cover, and let down when necessary to round them up. One from one at the distance, and looks very well placed in this event.

Randwick:

R3 #3 Trust The Process $7.00 at PlayUp – I can’t believe the price we are getting about Trust The Process here, who looks a great each way bet in this race over the mile. Third up here, and was flashing hard through the line last start at Kensington over 1400m going down by only 0.6L. Third up and coming to a mile, where he has a record of 4:3-1-0, and is also really suited by the drying track as well. He does have to rise into Saturday class, but so does every other horse in the race, and he carries only 54.5kg after the claim for the in form T Sherry. He looks to map well, and I have him marked as a $3.50 favourite, so any price over that I am very happy to take.

R4 #12 La Grisa$10.00 at PlayUp & #8 Kaapfever $7.50 at PlayUp – Another one here who looks unbelievably over the odds, currently at double figures as of lunchtime Christmas Day. She is second up here, and her run last start fresh indicated she has returned a very healthy and happy horse this prep. Flying through the line into third over 1600m at Warwick Farm, she recorded the fastest last 600m/400m/200m of the race, and it was also the fastest last 200m sectional of the entire meeting. 1800m now second up is ideal (she is one from one at the distance), and she carries only 52kg here due to the rise in grade. There are a number of go-forward horses in this race, so a hot tempo in front will only enhance her chances. Kaapfever is another horse in the race who is worth an each way ticket, down 2kg and out to 1800m fourth up in a fast run race should be an ideal set up for him.

R5 #13 Bigboyroy $3.70 at PlayUp – Fourth up here, this Waller horse looks very well placed in a race of questionable quality. He comes off a last start third behind Edison at Rosehill, where he really had no luck in running until the last 100m where he got clear running and found the line well. Even with no luck, he ran the fastest last 200m split of the race. Two starts back a solid winner in easier grade, i’m sure the horse is travelling well and ready to return to the winners stall. He gets in with another very low weight, and has consistently run well at a mile previously. With any luck in running from barrier 10, I think he can win.
