Horse Racing Tips July 10th

A good race day coming up here for punters, with a number of strong venues all throughout the country with some black type racing to boot as well. Take a look below at the PlayUp form expert selections for this Saturday.

Caulfield:

R1 #1 Zapateo $2.30 at PlayUpKeen on the Godolphin favourite here in the opener, who comes off a very smart debut win at Geelong last start. She was taken back to win the field off a solid tempo but still wanted to do things wrong in over-racing mid-stages. She circled the field on the turn and let down to score easily on the line, with her final 800m and 600m sectionals rating very highly in the meeting. Better for the debut win, Oliver sticks and she has a lovely low draw.

R2 #4 Deep Speed $2.30 at PlayUp  Very keen on the favourite here for team McEvoy and J Kah, who is a serious chance of bringing up her 100th win of the metro Vic season. First up here off two jumpouts, he definitely looks ready to win. Was asked to do nothing through the line in the first piece of work, but her jump out win after that was very impressive, showing a good turn of the foot through the line to pull away from the rest. A proven fresh winner and he finished alongside some very serious types last prep. Looks to push straight to the front here and control proceedings in a race of average speed.

R9 #15 Arkham Knight $12.00 at PlayUp  – Would be amiss of us not to include a selection at a good value, and we get that here with Arkham Knight. Fourth up into the prep here and is ready to peak, of a huge effort at Sandown last time out. He came from 5 minutes off the pace to fly past the field into 2nd on the line, and in doing so ran the fastest last 600m of the entire program, and the 2nd fastest last 400m and 200m of the program as well. Will get back again here from the wide draw, appreciate a hot speed, and should be flying home through the line.

Randwick:

R6 #3 Hulk $2.15 at PlayUp  – This looks like the most winnable race for Hulk in a very long time, coming off four runs so far this prep where he has gone very close without getting the win. He will be a rock hard fit for this assignment, the booking of J McDonald is a big positive, and he looks to slot in behind midfield from the barrier as well. Everything on paper looks set for him to win here, a very weak race and well-weighted to boot.

R9 #10 Barbaric $10.00 at PlayUpThought this runner was a touch of overs here, a talented galloper on his day who has only hard the four career starts and won two of them. Pulled up with issues in only the one run last prep, where he started favourite in the 3/4yo Magic Millions race at Wyong. He is a Black Opal winner, and the fact the stable has left him a colt indicates he must still have some very strong racing in store. Resumes here off three very good trials, so although lacking in race fitness he should be close enough to the mark to challenge. This isn’t the strongest BM88 on record, and at double figures, I’m happy to be involved.
