Greyhounds Tips May 27

The final of the Sandown Cup is undoubtedly the highlight of greyhound racing this evening and what a top-quality field it is to face the starter. The race, run over the staying trip of 715 metres, is the richest greyhound race for stayers in the world with the winning connections pocketing $175,000.

First, run in 1963 by the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club, the race has been won by many outstanding greyhounds over the years, including Lizrene, Paul’s Thunder, Sweet It Is, and in more recent times Fanta Bale and Tornado Tears, all considered champions in this time. But the deeds of Bold Trease, in winning an amazing four, that’s right, four, Sandown Cups, will always set him apart from all other winners. It is extremely unusual for a greyhounds racing career to extend long enough to be able to contest races over a four year period, but not only did he compete over four years, but he was also successful in winning. All of the wins were astonishing, with his racing pattern being that he dropped out the back of the field in the first half of the race, before storming home to claim victory. An amazing greyhound indeed was Bold Trease.

Enough of the past, let us attempt to maintain our recent fine form and tip the punters into a few winners, including the winner of the Sandown Cup.

Sandown Park Race 2 No 1 Eat My Dust $3.70 at PlayUp – Heavily backed on debut in a heat of this maiden series, but found trouble early before hitting the line well for third. Again, in his semi-last week, he had zero luck in the run from a bad draw. Tonight, he has his box, the inside, and we believe he will lead throughout and record a comfortable win. Out best for the night, so play your multi bets around him.

Sandown Cup at Sandown Park Race 8 No 4 Zipping Rambo $5.00 at PlayUp – Newcomer to the staying ranks but he is all class as evidenced by his recent 33.63 win at this track over the 595-metre trip, being the second-fastest time ever recorded. We think Zack Monelli will lead from his rails draw, and Zipping Rambo has the speed to position second behind and we believe he is the stronger stayer of the two and will be too strong in the closing stages. Selections: 4-1-6-2.

Murray Bridge Race 4 No 4 Coco Nova $5.00 at PlayUp – First run at the track last week when took some time to find the lead, before being run over in the home straight by Rushes. We are expecting significant improvement tonight and are looking for him to pounce on the lead early and establish a winning break before the home turn. Nice value.

Dapto Race 6 No 3 Super Estrella $1.90 at PlayUp – Extremely consistent chaser who is rarely far away. Excellent run last start at Sandown over the 595 metres, when narrowly defeated at her first run on the track. She knows Dapto and we are expecting her to lead all the way in this event.

Albion Park Race 8 No 6 Kooringa Lucy $8.00 at PlayUp – Very tough race but the each-way odds make Kooringa Lucy a very attractive betting proposition. She loves the track, and she is very strong, and we believe she will be in the finish as a result. She looks excellent each-way value.

CHANCES ARE YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE.
