Greyhound Tips: 7th April

Another sensational week in greyhound racing with the running of the Group 2 Launching Pad heats at Sandown Park, the Group 2 Ballarat Cup heats, Group 1 Golden Easter Egg semi-finals, the Group 1 Association Cup heats, the Group 3 Mount Gambier Cup heats, plus the commencement of the Million Dollar Chase series at various venues across New South Wales. We witnessed some stunning performances, like Wow She’s Fast running 29.147 in her Launching Pad heat and She’s A Pearl recording 29.46 in her Golden Easter Egg semi-final, some major upsets also, none more so than Let’s Win Coin winning her heat of the Launching Pad at a starting price of $75.10, and let us not forget the shock defeats, headed by Zipping Kansas getting rolled at $1.30 in his heat of the Association Cup.

One performance that took our eye this week, was the outstanding performance of the Jason Magri trained youngster Persuasive, recording the equal second fastest time ever at Bulli in winning the Regional Final of Bulli Million Dollar Chase series. Previously trained in Victoria, Persuasive was having just start number fourteen when he went with 0.04 of Aston Dee Bee’s track record of 24.78 which had been set in April 2017, and equalling the time of the 24.82 set by another star chaser in Shima Star. On this one performance alone, Persuasive has announced himself as a star of the future, and he is certainly a greyhound to follow, not just during the remainder of the Million Dollar Chase series, but in all the major races coming up across the country this year. He looks a real star. Tonight, at Sandown Park, we have the running of the four semi-finals of the G2 Launching Pad, plus three heats of the Launching Pad consolation, the Regional Finals of the Million Dollar Chase at Gunnedah and Dapto and let us not forget the heats of the renowned Gold Rush Maiden series at Bendigo which traditionally unearths some very fast youngsters, we have no doubt tonight will be no different with some superbly bred youngsters making their debuts. Now let us see if we can find the winners of the Launching Pad semi-finals for the punters plus some other winners across the nation.

Sandown Park Race 5 No 5 Wow She’s Fast $1.75 at PlayUp – Impossible to tip again this star chaser who set the clock alight here last week in her heat win, clearly recording fastest time of the heats. Only needs clear galloping room around first corner to win. Look for big run from Wynburn Ruby (8), who was very unlucky last week, well worth an each-way investment. Selections: 5-8-2-6.

Sandown Park Race 6 No 4 Photo Man $5.50 at PlayUp – Nice second in heat last week to Wow She’s Fast, in his first run for five weeks. Should be improved by that run. He has the speed to lead all the way. Favourite Amron Boy missed start badly last week so we are happy to risk. Selections: 4-1-2-5.

Sandown Park Race 7 No 2 Paua Of Mindy $8.50 at PlayUp – Extremely tough race with so much early speed. We are looking for a ‘run on dog’ to get into the money and Paua Of Mindy does hit the line very hard. Strong run last week in her heat. Great each way odds available. Selections: 2-8-1-6.

Sandown Park Race 8 No 1 Samona $5.50 at PlayUp – Tragedy beaten last week when severely interferes with on home turn when about to pounce on the lead. We were on her last week at huge odds, so we will follow up on her tonight. She has the speed to be handy to the lead early and she does finish her races off well. Selections: 1-2-7-8.

Angle Park Race 2 No 5 Weblec Mist $3.70 at PlayUp – Four dog race but a very open market. This greyhound has enjoyed no luck in her recent runs so we think the small field will allow her to show her true ability. She dues have nice speed so she could easily lead, once on the lure she can really run fast times. We think she is the best bet of the night, so ensure she is your banker in your multi bets tonight.

Sandown Park Race 11 No 3 Stay Strong $4.60 at PlayUp – Her last two runs at this track and distance have been super, without winning. She just needs a little bit of luck through the first bend to allow her to lob in the first half of the field. Yes, the red will lead and is a multiple group winner, but we think our selection can finish too well for her tonight, and at very nice odds.
