Greyhound Tips 31st December 2020

Last chance of the year for punters to fill their pockets, in what has been a very different 2020 in so many ways. But how lucky have we been, that all three codes of racing have managed to continue racing during this whole COVID impacted period. Well done to all involved. Our attention moves north tonight, to Albion Park, where 4 heats of the Group 2 Golden Sands will be run over the 600 metre trip. With a number of interstate visitors taking part, the quality of the four heats is excellent and should make for a great final next week. The New Year’s Trophy over the 520 metres, a race for the best 8 greyhounds, is an excellent support race on what promises to be a wonderful nights racing.

Elsewhere, the Middle Distance Series Final at Dapto will be race 5 on their 10 event program, whilst over in Adelaide their local distance star, Sir Truculent, will be chasing win number 34 on his home patch, and from the red box he should salute again. Wishing all our followers a very Happy New Year, going forward we will continue to provide you with news and selections twice weekly so hopefully the winners keep flowing. Bring on 2021.

Dapto Race 2 No 2 Nicmac Prince $2.10 at PlayUp – Desperate for the rails, last week caused carnage at the start from his wide draw. Much better suited drawn in box 2 tonight. Does have very nice ability and once he can learn to handle himself better at box rise, has the makings of a nice dog. Selections: 2-4-1-6.

Dapto Race 5 No 6 Ritza Tommy $2.60 at PlayUp – Another extremely talented dog but clumsy in a field. Was disappointing at Richmond recently when he stepped up in distance but we are happy to forget that run. Only has to avoid trouble to win. Selections: 6-2-4-1.

Albion Park Race 8 No 7 Mepunga Isle $2.40 at PlayUp – Victorian visitor who has been racing in career best form, winning her last four starts in top class fields. Wide draw is some concern but she is beginning that well of late, that she can overcome that box. Has speed and strength. Suited. Selections: 7-6-4-3.

Sandown Race 7 No 1 Cha Cha Charlie $3.60 at PlayUp – After a run of outs returned to form here last week when a convincing all the way winner in a fast 29.28. Drawn very nicely again here and should be able to hold the lead in the drive to the first corner. Hard to run down once on the lure. Selections: 1-3-4-5.

Sandown Race 11 No 8 Kuro Kismet $7.50 at PlayUp – Enormous run at The Meadows on Saturday night when he found early bother and was pushed back to last before flashing home for 3rd. Suited wide but he will need to begin on terms with the field to avoid trouble at first bend. Big motor and looks nice value. Selections: 8-1-7-4.
