Greyhound Tips 2nd November 2020

Group racing is everywhere at the moment, with greyhound followers focusing on The Meadows tonight with the running of the 600 metre Group 1 Hume Cup and the Group 3 Silver Bullet.

Four heats were run last Saturday night, with the highly promising former NSW performer Zipping Zeek taking time honours in his first run at the track, recording a very smart 34.10. But the box draw has done him no favours, as he has drawn off the track in box 7 and it will take a super effort to get himself into the race from that draw. As with many finals, with all dogs so evenly matched in ability, drawing box one can be a massive advantage and therefore we have selected Zero Cool to salute and provide trainer Michelle Nolan with her first Group One victory. Meadows Race 8 #1 $6.50 at PlayUp. Selections: 1-3-7-2.

Earlier on in the evening, we get to see the reigning Australian Greyhound of the Year, Simon Told Helen, clash for the first time with rising superstar Dr Tucker, who followed up his recent Great Chase victory with a scintillating win at Sandown on Thursday night. Both these dogs can record breathe taking first and second splits, generally breaking the hearts of the chasing brigade. Who will lead? Will they undo each other and set the race up for one of the stronger finishers in the race? Difficult questions to answer but are pinning our hopes on the champ Simon Told Helen to come out on top and add another group race victory to his resume. Meadows Race 6 #6 $2.35 at PlayUp. Selections: 6-1-4-8.

Albion Park Race 2 No 8 Supreme Falcon $4.40 at PlayUp – Aston Dee Bee youngster in the very strong Ray Burman kennels, who has experience absolutely no luck his two recent runs at this track after winning his maiden in nice fashion. This field is not strong and from the draw we think he can establish a nice lead. He may be feeling the pinch in the straight but he should have established a winning break prior. Selections: 8-3-2-7.

Meadows Race 5 No 4 Get It Gizmo $1.80 at PlayUp – Former top liner who recently returned to the track after a long injury enforced lay off. No zero luck his last couple but this field lacks the depth of the fields he had been racing against in his most recent starts. From all reports did trial here in very good time recently, recording a time under 34.20. With even luck here he will be winning. Selections: 4-2-3-1.

Meadows Race 9 No 3 Blue Tick Fern $2.80 at PlayUp – Faultless beginner who carried her recent Cranbourne short course form to Sandown when she recorded a nice all the way win recently. Meadows is considered a leaders track and we can see her breaking the field right up down the back and this will allow her to race away to her 8th career victory from just 17 starts. Selections: 3-5-8-2.

Lismore Race 6 No 2 Kingsbrae Clarky $26 at PlayUp – Don’t let the odds scare you off. This dog is a genuine chance in this event. Races much better at Lismore than he does at Casino where the majority of his recent racing has been. Can find the lead and give them something to catch. Huge each way change. Selections: 2-3-4-1.

Angle Park Race 12 No 7 Quinnish $1.75 at PlayUp – Almost fell last start but still had the audacity to pick herself up and make up many lengths in the run home. Strong all the way winner previous to that from an inside draw, and even better suited here tonight from this wider draw. Yes. Selections: 7-1-4-2.
