Greyhound Tips: 27th October

Racing of the highest quality continues tonight around the country with the highlight being the final of the Group 3 Rising Stars (520m) to Albion Park in Queensland. And what an outstanding field will face the starter, as the result of four stunning heats last Thursday. Little separated all the four hear winners on times, so we are expecting a wonderful race tonight. Despite the event not holding group status, historically the winner of the Future Stars Maiden (450m) series at Maitland has gone on to become a high class greyhound. Looking at the greyhounds that have qualified for tonight’s final, the winner this year will be no exception. This event will certainly be worth tuning into with your little black book in hand.

Things are starting to hot up down on the Apple Isle in the lead up to their only Group 1 event the Hobart Thousand which will be run in mid December. We get a sniff of things to come tonight, when three heats of the Tasmanian Gold Cup (461m) being run, comprising the best sprinters in Tasmania. But the locals will not have it their own way in the weeks ahead when the Devonport Classic and Hobart Thousand events will be held, as it is known that quite a few interstate dogs are likely to make the trip ensuring great racing is ahead. Let us not forget, that tonight at Sandown Park, a further four preludes of the 2022 Melbourne Cup (515m) will be run in the lead up to the running of Australia’s most sort after race. These preludes exude class, ensuring great racing will occur tonight. Speaking of great racing, the fields for the Top Gun Sprint (525m) and the Top Gun Stayers (730m), which will be run at The Meadows on Saturday November 5, were announced, with no real surprises evident. The depth of these two fields is outstanding, and two great races are assured. We will have more on these races next week. Now let us find some winners tonight for our followers.

Albion Park Race 1 No 2 Dolly Dutton $1.80 at PlayUp – Let our followers down two weeks ago when finishing third, but her performance on that occasion was still very good. She had no luck the entire trip before finishing third from box four. that performance was coming off the back of two flying wins at Ipswich at her two first starts at the races. She is well drawn tonight in a very winnable race. She looks the stand out bet anywhere tonight, so make her your banker in all your multi bets tonight.

Sandown Park Race 5 No 2 Ride The Thunder $3.80 at PlayUp – Had absolutely zero luck here last week from his wide draw. Much better draw tonight closer to the rails. Huge talent who has a big race in him. This is a rough field and we are expecting him to get out to each way odds, so they is the way to go. Strong in the run, just needs to have some room early.

Dapto Race 6 No 2 Coast Model $2.25 at PlayUp – Top class performer who excels at this track and distance where she has won three of her four starts, all in fast times. Loves an inside draw, and the dogs drawn either side of her have little early speed so she should find the lead with ease. Her two main rivals are suspect at the trip, so she should be able to lead all the way.

Sandown Park Race 7 No 7 Hector Fawley $5.00 at PlayUp – Form does not read well on paper, but this dog has a huge motor. No luck at all in his most recent starts. Slow beginner who needs the rails, so will need luck in the run. But the way the dogs are drawn, we feel he will begin slowly and the cut behind the field in the run to the first corner, and then rail into a handy place down the back. Strong late so will be finishing hard along the rails in home straight. Excellent each way odds, and well worth an investment.

Albion Park Race 8 No 8 Black Comanche $3.20 at PlayUp – No better drawn dog racing tonight than this dog. Loves box 8 as he scouts wide around the first turn. Add to this is the fact that the dog drawn in box 7, cuts hard to the rails at box rise and should provide further room for our selection. His outstanding mid race pace should see him set up a race winning lead before the home turn. Class galloper.

Angle Park Race 9 No 1 Molly Irish $2.15 at PlayUp – Has recorded back to back wins from inside draws at her two most recent starts, both is fast times for the class of dog. She looks certain to lead again, and once in front she will take a lot of running down. Should be able to make it three on the trot. Yes.
