Greyhound Tips: 24th September

One of the biggest nights in greyhound racing in Australia occurs this evening at Wentworth Park with the running of the 2022 Million Dollar Chase final. What an outstanding series this has turned out to be considering this to be only the fifth running of the event. One million dollars awaits the connections of the greyhound fortunate enough to be successful tonight. And looking at the field in depth during the week, we believe all eight Greyhound have a legitimate chance of victory. The support races programmed for tonight are of the highest quality, and include the final of the Group 2 Sydney Cup (720m) for the stayers, the finals of the MDC Maiden (520m), the Masters Meteor (520m), and the Young Star Classic (520m). What a night of racing. Let us if we can find out followers the winners of the main races on the programme.

Wentworth Park Race 3 No 1 Canya Smoke Them $1.60 at PlayUp – Raced very well without winning during two recent Maiden series, at Goulburn and Wentworth Park, before recording an excellent win in fast time in a heat of this event. In the very strong Andy Lord kennel. Handled box two with ease in his heat so box one holds no fears. Very strong.

Wentworth Park Race 4 No 5 Zipping Orlando $3.20 at PlayUp – We rate this greyhound the best prospect we have seen in the last 20 years. Undefeated in all seven race starts, in all in fast times, with a couple of his come from behind wins simply super. Yes he is drawn poorly tonight, and he will be back in the pack early, but he is a clever race dog in a field, so we think he can still get the job done. The price on offer does look very attractive.

Wentworth Park Race 7 No 6 Gypsy Yankee $2.35 at PlayUp – Race for veterans and this veteran is racing as well now as any time in his career. Recorded back to back wins at this venue in recent weeks, both in very fast times. Very reliable beginner so we are expecting him to lead all the way.

Wentworth Park Race 8 No 1 Super Estella $1.40 at PlayUp – Has cemented her place as the best stayer in the country with a number of outstanding wins at this venue, including a victory in the Group 1 National Distance Championship and a track record run in the state final of that race. Very reliable beginner who is drawn perfectly in box one. She looks the best bet of the night, so ensure she is your banker in all your multi bets.

Wentworth Park Race 9 No 1 Orchestrate $4.00 at PlayUp – Missed the start marginally here last week from the same box, before running on fairly to finish second in fast time. That was just his second run at the track so we can expect further improvement tonight. He does look well drawn and we are expecting him to lead throughout.

Wentworth Park Race 10 No 7 French Martini $3.60 at PlayUp – This is the big one, the final of the Million Dollar Chase. We have selected French Martini, and we are expecting her to lead all the way to give her trainer, Peter Lagogiane, his third win in the race from just five runnings. She is a reliable beginner who does not like to be crowded so she is perfectly drawn in box 7. Her main danger appears to be the evergreen sprinter Zipping Kyrgios, who has recently returned to his best form. He is such a strong chaser. Selections: 7-3-1-8.
