Racing

Greyhound Tips: 15th September

The focus tonight switches to South Australia, where at Angle Park the finals of the Group 3 South Australian Oaks (530m) and the Group 3 South Australian Derby (530m) will be run. These finals kick off a wonderful few weeks of racing in SA, which will culminate with the final of the Group 1 Adelaide Cup (530m), worth $100,000 to the winner, which will be run on Friday 7 October. Aside from the Oaks and Derby finals tonight, much interest will centre around the appearance of superstar Victorian sprinter Wow She’s Fast, who will trial solo between races in preparation for next weeks Match Race Challenge Special Event. The Match Race Challenge is where 4 greyhounds from SA will take on 4 greyhounds from interstate, with the overall winner being guaranteed a place in the Adelaide Cup final, thus bypassing the heats. The existing track record is 29.95, held by Aston Rupee. We have no doubt she can lower that time, but it may not occur tonight on this cold and wet spring night. It certainly is great for greyhound racing in South Australia that the connections of Wow She’s Fast have chosen to contest the Adelaide Cup series, especially given she has not graced the racetrack since mid-July.

Elsewhere tonight, we have racing at Sandown Park and Warrnambool in Victoria, Albion Park in Queensland, Dapto in New South Wales, Hobart in Tasmania, and Mandurah in Western Australia. Then tomorrow night we have an absolute massive night of greyhound racing at Wentworth Park in New South Wales, with the running of eight heats of the 2022 Million Dollar Chase (520m), with all eight winners progressing to next weeks final, where the winning connections will walk away with $1,000,000 in their pockets. In addition tomorrow night, three heats of the 2022 Group 2 Sydney Cup (720m) will be run. What an outstanding night of racing it promises to be, and we attempt to find all 11 winners for our followers. But first let us get tonight out of the way, so here are our selections for the two big races in SA, plus some further additional tips that we hope can be successful.

Angle Park Oaks Final Race 6 No 2 Ava Blazer $4.00 at PlayUp – Slowly away and found some interference in the run, when a nice third in her heat here last week. Prior she had recorded back to back wins at The Meadows and Sandown, both in good times. In the strong Jeff Britton kennels, who have tasted success in this event previously. Look for her to begin much cleaner tonight, her second look at the track, and then have too much class for her rivals.

Angle Park Oaks Final Race 8 No 2 Deadly Class $2.50 at PlayUp – Had his second run on the track last week and still looked new to it all. No doubt will benefit some more. Huge motor. If he can nail the start, the race is over. His main danger is Hector Fawley (6) but he is poorly drawn tonight. We think our selection can lead throughout.

Sandown Park Race 2 No 1 Motive $1.90 at PlayUp – After an unlucky placing here three weeks ago, he followed up with a fast finishing win here the week later. Forget he even went around at his last start, when he was pole axed at Sale from a wide draw. Will really appreciate the inside draw.

Albion Park Race 3 No 7 She’s Precocious $1.90 at PlayUp – She has always shown staying potential and finally she is starting to put it all together. Made up an enormous amount of ground late last start to record a close win at Ipswich over 630m. She will love the extra ground tonight and she record her first Thursday night win.

Dapto Race 2 No 8 Rose Bay Ruby $7.50 at PlayUp – Huge improvement last week at her third race start when a nice third after finding bother everywhere she went. She is very green, but she does have a motor. She is excellent each way odds and that is best way to back her, on an each way basis.

Sandown Park Race 10 No 7 Landyn Bale $3.00 at PlayUp – An extremely promising galloper who is getting stronger with each run. Winner of six from just nine race starts, all in nice times. Was placedhere at only previous look at this track, so no doubt will improve on that effort. We think he is the best bet of the night, so your banker in all your multi bets.

CHANCES ARE YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE.
