Horse Racing Tips 14th April

Midweek racing from Bendigo and Hawkesbury today, here is the good oil from the PlayUp form experts.

Bendigo R5 #8 Marinated $5.50 at Playup Low percentage play here, but Marinated looks to be of some each way value in this bm64 over the 2200m. He is only third up into the prep, and both runs so far have been extremely unlucky. Two runs back when fresh at Ballarat, he settled last in running off a very slow tempo, and only got into clear running inside the final 200m. He flew home through the line and was in front not long after the post. Then last start at Mornington, he was given a very average ride and found similar troubles in the straight, never really getting clear at any stage. Fitter now, gets a rider change and with good speed on in this race he may have better luck here.

Bendigo R7 #3 More Secrets $4.20 at Playup This talented 3yo filly comes here for her second race start, after winning dominantly on debut at Pakenham over the 1200m trip. Granted, she had a perfect run in behind the speed on that night, but the way she was able to accelerate and put the field away indicated she is a horse with above average ability. Her winning rating there rates already higher than a number of competitors here, and I think she will bring improvement into this second start. She maps for a suck run again from barrier two, extra trip now suits and Craig Williams retains the ride.

Bendigo R8 #7 Michigan $1.90 at PlayupBest bet of the day comes here in the last, with the Moroney trained Michigan coming off a very impressive maiden win at Sandown last start. That was over 1200m on a soft 6, where he jumped and landed outside the lead, and under riding at the top of the straight quickly put the field away. He ran the fastest last 800/600/400m of the entire meeting, and was eased down over the line. His win rated extremely high, and with natural progression into this second run he looks very hard to beat again. Jumps and leads form the inside draw, controls the race, and with the rail out +8m I doubt they catch him.

Hawkesbury R1 #2 Aslav $5.50 at PlayupComing here on debut is this son of Vancouver for the Waller yard, and Bowman has been booked to ride. He has had three trials leading into this debut run, one over 1000m at the Gold Coast before two shorter trials here in Sydney. On all occasions he has looked very promising working through the line, and looks to have some good talent. Although J McDonald, who trialled the horse, has taken another ride, the booking of Bowman is no hinderance. He is well drawn in barrier two and looks good value at his current quote.

Hawkesbury R2 #7 Hide Your Heart $10.00 at PlayupFirst up here off some encouraging trials where she wasn’t asked to do much through the line. She has only had the one career start, which was a forgivable run in a smart 2yo hip race at Rosehill, including the likes of Hunnam, Sliders and others who have since raced well. Her trials before the debut start showed promise, she now gets the booking of Tom Marquand from a good draw and can give a good account of herself.
