Racing Tips July 24th

Saturday race day approaching us here punters, and the PlayUp form expert has been hard at work to find you winners across the country. Take a look at their 5 selections from Caulfield and Rosehill below.

Caulfield R3 #1 Sunfall $4.20 at  PlayUp – Keen on this talented 2yo to make it back to back victories, coming off a very impressive performance at Geelong last time out. He settled near enough to last from the bad draw, and was electric in being able to swoop past the field to win. He ran the fastest last 400m and 200m sectionals in doing so, and proved he has returned this prep in excellent form. He SP’d as a $7.50 chance against eventual G1 Blue Diamond winner Artorius last prep, and pulled up lame in that race. He will be handier today from the draw, and C Newitt is riding very well.

Caulfield R6 #3 Murrumbidgee River $2.30 at  PlayUp – Got set an almighty task to try and win last start, and almost did so at Sandown in similar conditions to what it finds today. J Kah arguably left the run a little too late on that occasion, so no doubt she will be eager to right the wrongs from last start here today. This horse has tremendous upside, only having his third career start, and the wet track no issue while the step to 2400m looks ideal. He rates a lot higher than any other runner in this field, and keen he can make up the ground from barrier 12.

Caulfield R7 #11 The Garden $4.40 at  PlayUp – I had been following this horse since before its debut, and was not surprised to see it win so dominantly when resuming at Geelong. He blew that field away on a soft 7 after settling up on speed, and the time he recorded in winning was 3L faster than the bm64 time on the same day. He should’ve won on debut, but was very unlucky there as well. The booking of C Williams is the cherry on top here, as he would’ve no doubt sought out this ride, and with only 54kg looks a serious winning chance.

Rosehill R1 #6 Military Expert $3.20 at  PlayUp – Second up here for A Neasham, and coming off an electric debut performance when running 2nd behind King Of Sparta, he looks ready to turn the tables. His trial leading into that debut run was very good, and was only beaten a head on that debut at Randwick. Now second up, expect them to roll forward from the wide draw which should give them an advantage on this track with the rail position. He handles the soft going clearly, and now with added fitness looks the one to beat.

Rosehill R4 #7 Barbaric $11.00 at  PlayUp – Keen on the resuming G3 Black Opal winner here in Barbaric, who has had three trials leading into this return to the races. He was set to resume a few weeks back, but the remainder of the Randwick program was abandoned that afternoon. He has since been back to the trials and looked very forward running second there. Obviously a horse with a few issues, i’m trusting the Snowden team have gotten him right, and with only 52kg here under R King in a small field, I’m convinced he should be shorter in this market.
