Racing Tips: 9th November

Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst.

Bendigo R6 #11 Alpinova $12.00 at PlayUp – Keen to see the resumption of this Simon Zahra horse, who should go promise in her first prep. She ran a gallant second on debut at Ballarat, and then was a dominant maiden winner at her next start at Wangaratta. She ran extremely good sectionals that day on the wet ground, recording a meeting fastest last 400m and 200m’s through the line. Back for her second prep here, she looks physically and mentally improved from her time off as seen in some good jump out efforts leading in.

Bendigo R7 #5 Comanche North $3.30 at PlayUp – Pretty smart gelding returns here, coming off the back of his debut prep where he ran two very close second placings and a strong Wangaratta maiden win. He was very strong sectionally and to the eye in each win, recording some meeting fastest splits on debut before running around some handy gallopers who have gone on with things since. Looks well placed here from a wider draw to roll forward and put himself in a position to win this race.

Bendigo R9 #1 Celebrity’s Beau $7.00 at PlayUp – This UK import is having his first start for the new stable, now under the care of P Moody. His lone win at Cambridge on debut over 1300m was exceptional, putting a solid gap in the field to win and doing it in good time for the day as well. He looks a very progressive type, who seems to be flourishing in his new environment and has worked well in jump outs leading into this run. Drawn perfectly in barrier three, the good ground looks ideal, and he could be hard to beat.

Hawkesbury R3 #8 Legio Ten $2.20 at PlayUp – This Godolphin runner is desperate to break through for a maiden victory, and should get a very good chance this afternoon in a winnable midweek maiden. He has placed three from four career starts, including a strong 2nd behind a handy horse at Cranbourne last time out. Making his Sydney debut here, I think should strike a weaker class of horse compared to what he has been racing, and he definitely has the right ratings to win this. He SP’d a $2 favourite against Berkeley Square at Geelong last prep, and that horse is now a G1 runner. Maps perfectly from barrier one today, should have every chance.

Hawkesbury R5 #5 Awesome Lad $1.85 at PlayUp – Coming through a 2nd place in the Four Pillars wring $500,000 at Rosehill last start, where he was beaten under half a length by the winner. And now, finds himself in a 1500m provincial race at Hawkesbury on a Wednesday where he wont know himself . He brings strong QLD form into this including minor placings in town at Eagle Farm over 1400m, and was only beaten 4.5L in a class 6 at Doomben to start the prep. Clearly looks the class horse, Nash Rawiller booked to ride is a positive, and should be winning here at an albeit short price.
