Racing Tips: 29th March

Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst.

Sandown R3 #8 So She Can Fly $5.00 at PlayUp – Second up here and comes off a dominant first up win last start, bolting in at Ararat over the 1600m. She sat near last off a hot speed, saved ground on the turn and raced away late with her ears still pricked over the line. I feel as though she has a lot more to offer, and now with fitness on her side can definitely be improved. Don’t mind sticking to the mile after she ran so well at it first up, maps well and gets a strong rider booking.

Sandown R7 #3 Loco $2.45 at PlayUp – Strikes a decent enough midweek race here, but I think this son of So You Think is a proper talent and can be making it two from two to start his career. The debut win at Pakenham earlier this month was simply dominant, settling back and just taking over with ease to pull away for a 3.5L victory. He draws barrier one here which will help him hold a more forward position, and the booking of M Zahra is a very strong push that the horse is here to win again.

Sandown R8 #14 Seonee $3.50 at PlayUp – Third up, and comes off a very good last start win here over the 1400m journey beating a handy field including Faretti, Flash Flood and Chartres. She missed the kick hopelessly, and still savaged the line to be too strong in the end and win. She ran the fifth fastest last 200m split of the entire meeting, and it was a visually impressive victory which was backed up on the clock. Steps to a mile now third up which looks ideal, and holds the low 54kg from last start with thanks to the claim for L Lafferty. Maps well, going very well, and can win.

Warwick Farm R2 #9 Golden Queen $1.85 at PlayUp – Second up and bursting to win a race, having been placed five times in a six start career to date. She was edged out here after leading last start by the barest of margins, and I think should only be improved off that fitness wise now second up with the wet track run under her belt. Heavy conditions are no worries, she has placed both attempts on very wet tracks which includes a Listed Woodlands Stakes 2nd placing behind In Secret no less, now a proper G1 horse. Drawn wide, she will cross and lead and should be able to hold on this time.

Warwick Farm R8 #12 Strombus $4.80 at PlayUp – Third up and ready to win, coming off a decent effort at Newcastle last start over 1200m. The form line I want to focus on though, is the 3rd at Canterbury when resuming behind Brudenell. He was terribly held up until the final furlong, and savaged the line once clear in a race where he probably wins with even luck. Can peak now, and draws perfectly in barrier four, and B Avdulla sticks aboard which is a positive. Only one career victory, and it came on a heavy track which he gets here today.
