Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst.
Ballarat R4 #5 Parisian Dancer $1.60 at PlayUp – Confident that class can prevail here, with the resuming Alexander runner coming straight to 1600m from a good draw. She looks extremely well placed in this BM64, and last prep first up she was very close to winning at Donald over the mile fresh, before winning easily at Ballarat second up. She can clearly handle the distance first up, and seems to be a horse who performs best fresh.
Randwick-Kensington R2 #9 Koshu $2.10 at PlayUp – There has been a stack of money already for this O’Shea debutant, and after watching its trial win it isn’t hard to see why. In the only trial leading into this debut run, she put away her opponents effortlessly by just under a length and a half on the line, making easy work of the heavy surface. It is always very encouraging to see James McDonald stay onboard for their first run after trialling them, as it usually means he has a strong opinion of the horse. Drawn well, and looks a winner in a moderate maiden.
Randwick-Kensington R6 #6 Po Kare Kare $3.80 at PlayUp – First up in her second prep here, and has trialled very nicely coming into this prep. Two trials including a win over the 800m in the first one, and had a lot left to give in the latest one behind proven city performer Lashes. She was only 1L off Trifaccia on debut last prep, and then won easily second up over 1250m. She looks a smart and progressive filly who is drawn perfectly here in barrier two, and gets the services of J McDonald here to be the cherry on top.
Mount Gambier R6 #3 Dothraki $3.00 at PlayUp – Has run very well in two starts this prep, finishing a close second on both occasions. He was unlucky not to win at Hamilton first up, blowing the start badly and rocketing home and only just being pipped on the line in what was an impressive display that was also backed up on the clock. Form behind Home Rule at Geelong last start reads well, and he looks all over the winner here from barrier one in a much less competitive Mount Gamber race.
