Sandown Lakeside:
R1 #1 Banderas $6.00 at PlayUp
Should’ve arguably won in both runs so far this prep, with lucklessness behind slow tempo races contributing a large factor. Forst up at Mornington the horse was never fully ridden out but still managed the 4th fastest last 400m and 200m splits of the entire day. Last start at that same circuit, he got way back behind a slow speed and still ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of the day through the line. The horse who lead that race also won, showing the shape was well against him. Third up now, D Oliver is an enormous rider change and he can finally break through.

R3 #3 Lempicka $5.50 at PlayUp
Coming off a very smart maiden win on debut at Benalla, where she was backed in from $6.50 opening price to $2.80 starting price, and never looked in danger. She went very quick in front, running 5L quicker than standard time between the 800-400m, and kept finding to finish off 2L quicker than standard from the 400m to home. This doesn’t look an overly hard race, and she has the scope to improve again now with fitness and experience on her side.

R7 #7 Love Takes Time $3.10 at PlayUp
Very good fresh over the 1500m at Mornington, got held up badly at the 400m mark and that cost it all chance of winning. Once clear late, she flew through the line and her last 200m split rated very highly for the meeting. Second up now and improved, back to 1400m should suit and with even luck in running she can be taking this out. Noting a very positive jockey change to D Oliver as well.

Rosehill:
R6 #5 Too Much Caviar $2.40 at PlayUp
A very popular last start Randwick winner, who led throughout and held a solid margin on the line to win over the 1300m. That was first up off the back of strong trials, and now comes into this second up where he is unbeaten at this stage of the prep. Barrier one is a perfect draw as it will allow him to bounce and land straight on the bunny up front. Expect JVO to control things from there, and up to 1500m now is very good as well. This horse will get 1800m+ in time, so expect him to make it back to back wins.
