Very keen to bet each way in the time honoured Greys race here, and I think Naval Envoy fits the bill. He has been flying in his last two starts, including almost stealing the show at this track and distance two runs back. He went way too hard in front last start at Ballarat and was claimed late, but has been given time since then and a tick over jump out as well. He maps to lead and control in a race devoid of speed, and could take catching.

Todays speed map looks very strong, which will set up for him perfectly getting back from the wide draw and flying home. He looks very suited to the big circuit of Flemington, and can use the straight to wind up. His figures through the line have been enormous and with only 54kg here he is a clear favourite in my market.

It was an outstanding run both to the eye, and backed up by the clock and subsequent winning rating. He is miles ahead of any in this field, will stroll across from the wide draw to be prominent, and based off what we saw last start he should eat up 3200m. On the drift currently, and there might be upwards of $3.50 available by race time. Load up.

Gallant on debut running 2nd as an odds-on favourite, just beaten by a better one on the day. Likely to have taken much benefit from that run, and we are now getting over double the price for him to improve one and win. H Bowman sticks aboard, drawn perfectly down low, and should have enough natural improvement here to be going very close.

Very consistent Godolphin horse resuming here, after winning two from four starts last prep. Two trials leading in have been quiet, but gets a key jockey booking here and is perfectly drawn down low in a very winnable race. Can run well fresh, as documented by a 2nd placing first up last prep, and would not have to be a star to win this race.
