Horse Racing Tips 16th April

Another massive day of G1 racing out of Sydney, for the Provincial Championships race day that includes the G1 Queen Elizabeth, Sydney Cup and Queen of the Turf Stakes. There are a number of major players going around in the feature races and should make for another unforgettable day. It’s also Owners and Breeders Day at Caulfield, with a number of high quality VOBIS races to be run and won. Take a look at the PlayUp form experts selections below for both meetings.

Randwick R6 #9 Isotope $3.60 at PlayUpThis Brisbane galloper looks to be the real deal, and is primed to knock off her first group win here in the Arrowfield Sprint. A filly with undoubtedly a tonne of ability, having already won numerous Listed races as well as the 3yo Magic Millions earlier this year. She comes into this second up off a dominant fresh win at Rosehill where she knocked off Group 1 winner Odeum. She is unbeaten second up from two attempts, draws the perfect barrier and can win here.

Randwick R8 #7 Verry Elleegant $2.45 at PlayUp Would be silly to tip against this mighty mare in the G1 feature of the afternoon, plain and simple she is a freak of a racehorse and should be better than these again. Coming off two straight wins in the Ranvet and the Chipping Norton, she arrives here fourth up peak fit and yet again in unbelievable form. She finished second to Addeybb in this race last year, but she was fifth up then and unsuited by the bog track. She looks much better placed this time around in the small field, can stalk Addeybb the entire way and be too strong late.

Caulfield R1 #2 Mahamedeis $1.90 at PlayUp Bet of the day comes up in the opener at Caulfield, with Mahamedeis looking very well placed to rejoin the winners stall here. Fifth up into the prep, and guaranteed to be rock hard fit and forward for this assignment. He was gallant in the G3 Easter Cup behind the very talented Hang Man and also Persan, which reads as strong form. He returns to the track and trip, looks very well weighted in comparison to others and also rates much higher as well. His run in the G2 Blamey three back put the righting on the wall for a win, and now is the time. Queen La Diva maps to lead this race and with the rail back in the true on a firm deck, it could play leaderish. Have a very small saver on it too.

Caulfield-R2 #5 Mr Tipla $19.00 at PlayUpCan’t believe the odds about this horse, granted it is a very open race, but Mr Tipla looks a great each way bet here. Resuming over this 1400m trip in bm78 grade, a grade in which he is far superior than as proven by solid runs last prep in harder grade. He resumed last prep in the bm90 Greys race at Flemington over this 1400m trip and was only nutted on the line. His lead in jump outs have been very encouraging, he is a three time winner first up and draws perfectly in barrier one. I have him marked a $13 chance.

Caulfield-R6 #10 Arcaded $3.80 at PlayUpKeen on the Godolphin runner here in the Vobis Showdown for the 2yo’s. This is a race that, on paper, looks to have an abundance of speed with a number of go forward horses including current favourite Starry Legend. That sets up perfectly for Arcaded, who from barrier 12 will drift back and bide time behind the hot speed. We know she has a very good turn of foot, she is a G3 winner from last start at Rosehill and has now won three of four career starts. The booking of J Kah is a big positive, expect her to be flashing home late.

CHANCES ARE YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE.
