Finals of the Richmond Oaks and Derby headline another super night of racing tonight. The shock scratching late yesterday of Wow from the Derby has certainly robbed it of some interest but the field that will front the starter is still of the highest quality. And not be forgotten, the Oaks field is also worthy of the status the event holds on the Australian greyhound calendar. To support the overall strong program at Richmond, the Meadows have an excellent program, having been moved from their normal Saturday to allow Horsham Cup night to be the centre of attention in Victoria tomorrow night. And not forgetting that earlier today, five heats of the Murray Bridge Cup will be run.
Richmond Race 4 No 1 One Penny $1.80 at PlayUp – Building up a super record over the short courses, winning 13 of just 23 race starts. No luck last start in the early stages when 4th this track and distance. Should find the lead in this from this ideal draw.
Meadows Race 6 No 1 Aston Ulysses $1.60 at PlayUp – Highly talented up and coming middle distance performer in the strong Paul Abela kennel, who had no luck here last week after recording two outstanding wins at Sandown prior. This draw should suit perfectly and an all the way victory is expected. Banker for your multi bets tonight.
Meadows Race 7 No 3 Zipping Rambo $2.25 at PlayUp – Massive motor and can run real time with a clear passage. Simply outstanding winning at Sandown last week from a middle draw and a repeat of that effort will see him winning again.
Richmond Race 7 No 6 Ice Cream Story $3.30 at PlayUp – Can run the hands off the clock when given a clear passage. No luck early last week in her heat before making up many lengths in finishing a close second in good time. Has the class to win.
Geelong Race 10 No 5 Leeroy Deploy $2.45 at PlayUp – Does not win out of turn but this does look a winnable race for him. Showed very good speed last start at Warrnambool over the 450 metres and the drop back to the 400 metre trip tonight looks absolutely perfect. Should allow punters to fill their pockets for the weekend ahead.
