Greyhound Tips 3rd December 2020

Group racing continues across the nation tonight, with heats of the Group 1 Dapto Megastar in NSW, whilst at Albion Park we see heats of the Group 3 Queensland Derby and the Queensland Futurity being run.

All these finals will be run next Thursday night in what promises to be a tremendous night of racing.

Next Thursday will also see the running of the heats of the Group 1 Hobart Thousand, a race steeped in history. This event will attract many interstate visitors with a number of them trialling during the meeting at Hobart tonight.

Some of the interstate runners that are expected to make the trip are Tommy Shelby, Tiggerlong Tonk, Handsome Prince, Shadow Mist, Fire Legend, Zambora Smokey, Arizona Eyes and Paua of Oscar. Wouldn’t they make a handy final field?

This week first, so let us see if we can continue our strong tipping form.

Albion Park Race 2 No 1 Major Major $2.00 at PlayUp – South Australian visitor who has been racing in superb form in his home state. Recoded a nice win at The Meadows last time he raced interstate. Thrives from a rails draw and has good early speed, so it would be a surprise if he does not find the early lead. Yes. Selections: 1-6-2-8.

Albion Park Race 7 No 8 Micks Recall $1.95 at PlayUp – Perfectly drawn in box 8. At her first 700m plus run last start, she showed she has the makings of a star stayer when she won convincingly in nice time. She will improve off that run.  Kennel have been taking all before them of late. Selections: 8-6-7-1.

Dapto Race 6 No 2 Shetland $2.70 at PlayUp – After performing very well during the Million Dollar Chase series, Shetland ventured south for a crack at the Melbourne Cup. Had zero luck in a cup prelude when finishing well down the track, before running a creditable 4th to Shima Shine in his heat. Will find this much easier, drawn well and can lead all the way.  Selections: 2-1-3-7.

Dapto Race 7 No 4 Winlock On Top $8.00 at PlayUp – He has been racing very well of late, in top grade, without winning. Loves this track and distance, winning 7 from 14 here. Taking on the star Victorian in Simon Told Helen, but we think his knowledge of the track will prove very beneficial. Each way odds and cannot see him missing the top two. Selections: 4-3-2-8.

Sandown Race 6 No 3 Weblec Ace $1.90 at PlayUp – Was simply outstanding last Friday when he took out the Group 3 Sir John Dillon Memorial in a very fast 33.89, despite being crossed early and having to work hard to regain the lead. Again we find plenty of speed in this race, drawn outside him, but not only does he have the strength to finish over them, he has the smarts to get past them. Sale Cup bound and this looks an ideal race for him. Selections: 3-6-8-1.
