Greyhound Tips 29th October 2020

What a month of greyhound racing we have in front us, commencing tonight and then culminating with the running of the Melbourne Cup at Sandown on the last Friday in November. Tonight at Sandown we see 4 Preludes of the Melbourne Cup being contested, with all place getters gaining entry into the Melbourne heats. And what great Preludes they are, as we see some of the states most talented youngsters making the step up to open grade as they begin their quest for fame and glory. We believe the following 4 greyhounds will feature prominently over the next month in any event they contest, and are well worth keeping an eye on. We speak of Catch The Thief, Xerri, Do It and Tommy Shelby.

Sandown Park Race 3 No 3 Jepara $3.00 at PlayUp – Real up and comer who finished 4th behind the flying Dr Tucker in the final of the Group 2 Great Chase last start. Despite this being his first start on the track, he has shown in the past he can handle new tracks. Explosive mid race pace. Capable of winner at the highest level. Selections: 3-2-8-7.

Sandown Park Race 5 No 7 Arizona Eyes $11.00 at PlayUp – Extremely talented sprinter who often ruins his chances with poor beginnings. Surprisingly, despite being a mad railer, we think he is better suited drawn in wide boxes, as it allows the field to spread out before he starts his run through the field. He represents outstanding each way value tonight. Selections: 7-3-1-2.

Sandown Park Race 7 No 2 Do It $2.50 at PlayUp – Bred to be a quality racer, and his five wins from eight starts to date, confirm that he is heading places. This is his biggest test to date, stepping up to open class. Has a flying 29.41 personal best on the track. Likes an inside draw and has the speed to lead, and his strength is improving with each run. Yes. Selections: 2-7-3-1.

Albion Park Race 8 No 2 Magical Hope $5.50 at PlayUp – Won her heat last week in 29.89, and after encountering a couple of checks around the first bend she was able to power clear to record a very easy win. She has a personal best winning time of 29.67, which is very quick, and a repeat of that time can see her winning this event. Has recorded 3 victories from 5 starts from this box. Selections: 2-5-6-7.

Albion Park Race 9 No 6 Love Game $2.70 at PlayUp – Can do a bit wrong in her races but this field is not strong. Unlucky not to find lead here last week, when checked at post first time as she attempted to cross to rails. Not a lot of speed in this and we can see her finding a forward position through the catching pen and from there she has the strength to record her 5th lifetime victory. 6-2-3-8.
