We hope all punters had a great Christmas, you should have your pockets full if you followed our selections on Thursday where we had some lovely winners at nice odds. What a night of racing in front of us this evening, with the headline act being the running of the Group 1 Sale Cup worth $75,000 to the winning connections. The field assembled is as good as any previous Sale Cup, great depth with any of the eight runners capable of winning the event.
Despite his middle box draw, we still are placing our faith in Houdini Boy. A noted slow beginner, he does have wonderful field sense, and we are thinking he can negotiate his way clear through the catching pen t put himself in a winning position. His final split last week was stunning so if he is within touch he will run over them.Elsewhere in Victoria, at The Meadows, eight heats of the Silver Chief, a restricted age event for male greyhounds, will be run. And despite the scratching of the NSW star Flying Riccardo from the heats, we still have plenty to look forward to in the heats. Sunset Spitfire, a winner of his only 12 starts in WA, lit the track up here last week in a trial. A repeat performance tonight will see him winning and advancing to next weeks $100,000 to the winner final.
