Last chance tonight to fill our pockets before Christmas Day, so hopefully we can find a few winners around the nation. Sandown Park in Melbourne have a fantastic field lining up in race 8 tonight, their Free For All event. Tiggerlong Tonk was simply superb last week when running second to Tommy Shelby in the Group 1 Hobart Thousand, and from box 8 he can go one better and record another win. He will be pushed all the way by the likes of Faithy Bale, Short Pork and Jax Bale who are all racing in great form. At Albion Park in Queensland we will see the running of the Middle Distance Challenge Final over the 600m trip, with Frieda Las Vegas, despite the awkward draw, expected to win after her stunning heat win. A 5th Grade final at Dapto and the Christmas Sprint at Angle Park are other highlights tonight with both events very even affairs.
Warrnambool Race 4 No 8 Nangkari $1.45 at PlayUp – Outstanding sprinting prospect who has recorded very comfortable victories in fast times in his two starts back from a long break. Looked a little strange to the track last week in his heat but still had plenty on them. Well drawn here with the speedy Flexing in his immediate inside. Eyes on the clock. Selections: 8-1-7-6.
Sandown Race 2 No 2 Five Star $2.10 at PlayUp – Heavily backed at his debut run when narrowly defeated at The Meadows recently. Made amends next start when a strong winner at Ballarat in good time. Will have been well schooled at this track. Very promising galloper. Selections: 2-3-1-4.
Dapto Race 2 No 8 Nordic Force $4.20 at PlayUp – Nice debut run at Goulburn recently when hitting the well to finish second. Nicely drawn here as the 7 dog crashes hard to the rails. Drawn to scout to the lead around first bend and should open up a big gap in them down the back. Selections: 8-2-8-1.
Albion Park Race 7 No 2 Mayoress $3.70 at PlayUp – Freshened for this after performing very well in the recent Futurity series, running a nice 3rd in the final. She does have nice pace which should enable her to lead all the way in this race which is a drop in class for her. Selections: 2-1-6-5.
Angle Park Race 9 No 1 Corryong Mclaren $2.10 at PlayUp – Finished very well last start over the 515m to record a nice victory. Steps up to the 600m here and it does look an ideal distance for this galloper. Only has to avoid trouble in the dash to the first corner to be very hard to beat. Selections: 1-2-4-8.
