Greyhound Tips: 22nd October

Despite inclement weather prevailing across the country, greyhound racing generally has been able to proceed without being impacted significantly. Thursday at Dapto being an exception, when very heavy storms hit the area during the program, eventually forcing the abandonment of the program following the running of race five. No doubt this caused a good deal of inconvenience to the trainers but the decision was certainly made in the best interests of their greyhounds welfare. With continued heavy rain being experienced especially in the southern parts of the east coast, we can only hope that further cancellations are not forthcoming in the coming days.

Tonight, with racing at The Meadows, Traralgon, Wentworth Park, Dubbo, The Gardens, Ipswich and Cannington, we believe we have identified a number of very nice selections for our followers to take advantage of. At Wentworth Park, some of the states most promising sprinters are engaged across seven heats of the Good Odds Harada Grade 5 series, and we think there is a couple of real stand outs for the punters. Two other races that have attracted our attention are the Free For All at The Meadows, and the final of the All Stars Sprint at Cannington, both of which will see some of those states best sprinters doing battle in the lead up to the upcoming group races.

Dubbo Race 3 No 1 Rhino Miss $2.70 at PlayUp – Still a maiden after eleven starts, but she has been placed in seven of those starts. Led early before being beaten by a promising dog here two starts back, from box three. From this inside draw, we feel she can find the lead tonight, and finally bring up her first career win here.

Wentworth Park Race 1 No 1 That’ll Do Neo $3.10 at PlayUp – Very strong winner at this track and distance last start from box five. Love an inside draw so will appreciate being drawn in box one tonight. We feel the favourite (8) in the race was disappointing last start at Dapto, but with it in the race it is providing us with nice value about our selection.

The Meadows Race 6 No 1 Zoha Bale $1.70 at PlayUp – We rate him the most promising middle distance galloper in the country. His win last start at Sandown Park was simply outstanding, coming from off the pace in wet conditions to win racing away in fast time. He is a desperate railer so box one is perfect for him. He is capable of running amazing times with a clear run. Clearly the best bet of the night anywhere in the country, so make him your banker in all your multi bets tonight. He is our wary selection for the upcoming Group 1 Hume Cup (600m) to be run at The Meadows in the coming weeks.

Wentworth Park Race 9 No 1 Winlock Piper $3.20 at PlayUp – Has recorded back to back wins at this venue in recent weeks, recording good times on both occasions. Yes he does like to use plenty of the track but he did win nicely from this same box four starts back. We think he has enough speed to find the early lead, and once in front he will take an awful lot of beating. Promising galloper.

The Meadows Race 8 No 3 Paddy Wants Pats $3.60 at PlayUp – Two weeks in a row at Sandown Park, he has found the lead early only to be cut down in the last few bounds in fast times. We feel The Meadows is more a track that suits the leader. We feel he can again find the lead tonight, and with the early sectionals he can run, we feel he can pinch the prize. He is a fine galloper, and we really fancy his chances in the upcoming Melbourne Cup series.

Cannington Race 4 No 1 Electrified $4.80 at PlayUp – This is a super race, loaded with the best sprinters in WA. This dog was outstanding last week in winning his heat, from box 4, in defeating Vice Grip fairly. Very well suited in box one where he has recorded wins in all three previous attempts. Future Group 1 performer we have no doubt. Has the speed and the strength to account for this quality field tonight.
