Greyhound Tips 21st January 2021

Feature races in all states tonight will have punters extremely busy trying to keep an eye on things as some of the best dogs in the country race at various tracks across the nation. At Albion Park in Brisbane we have a mammoth night of chasing, with the Australia Day Trophy over the 520 metres, the Clem Jones Cup over the 710 metres, with the icing on the cake being the Group 3 Golden Ticket Match Race series with the fastest time winner gaining automatic entry into the Group 1 Gold Bullion final in two weeks’ time.

At Sandown Park in Melbourne, we have the Maidment Memorial over the 595 metres has drawn together an outstanding field of middle distance greyhounds, supported by the Australian Sprint over the 515 metres. Houdini Boy has been installed a very short priced favourite in the Maidment Memorial on the strength of a recent track record trial over the track and distance, but in such a star studded field he will find the task of negotiating from the tail of the field, he is a slow beginner, far from easy. We will see the running of 5th grade finals at Angle Park in South Australia and Dapto in NSW, whilst down in Hobart, four semi-finals of the Hobart Thousand will also attract much interest, and as usual a strong Thursday night program is scheduled for Mandurah in West Australia.

Dapto Race 4 No 7 Zambora Clown $4.20 at PlayUp – A member of one of the hottest kennels in the country right now, the Luke Adams kennel, this ex Victorian is expected to show significant improvement tonight after two runs in much tougher races since coming to NSW. Is very talented and has recorded fast times in some of her Victorian victories. Looking for her to find the lead in the run to the first corner. Selections: 7-8-4-5.

Sandown Park Race 6 No 7 Faithy Bale $3.80 at PlayUp – Her form over the last month has been simply stunning, topped off by her victory last week at Warragul over Tiggerlong Tonk in the match race event. Loves this track and she can find the lead from this draw. Runs super times when on the lure. Selections: 7-6-2-1.

Sandown Park Race 9 No 2 Zambora Lion $3.00 at PlayUp – Another of the Zambora Brockie progeny, and this fellow has a real motor. At times can be tardy early but the lesser class of opposition tonight should provide him with the opportunity of finding the lead early. Yes. Selections: 2-4-6-7.

Angle Park Race 8 No 4 Zipping Sullivan $2.05 at PlayUp – Had to work extremely hard in his heat win after finding early trouble after a slow getaway. Generally is a reliable beginner so expect him to step much cleaner tonight. He was a Melbourne Cup finalist back in November, an indication of his class. Looks the goods. Selections: 4-2-8-3

Albion Park Race 8 No 1 Sunset Bourbski $3.10 at PlayUp – Tough race with runners from 4 different states represented. She was outstanding winning at Warragul last week, coming from a mile off the leader at the half way mark. She did show early speed before being checked back to last. Don’t be surprised if she does land in the first 3 tonight and from there it will be game, set and match. She is a star at her best. Selections: 1-6-5-8.
