Greyhound Tips: 1st September

The last of the regional finals of the 2022 New South Wales Million Dollar Chase are to be conducted over the next week commencing tomorrow with the Goulburn & Richmond finals, followed by Dubbo on Saturday, Broken Hill on Sunday, and finally Nowra and Maitland on Monday. Then next Saturday night at Wentworth Park, the City Preludes will be conducted, this being the last chance for greyhounds to qualify for the eight semi-finals which are to be conducted on Friday 16th September. What a series is has been so far, and there is no doubt that the month of September promises to be another wonderful month of greyhound racing. When you look at the names of some of the greyhounds that have already qualified, names like Good Odds Cash, Plaintiff, French Martini, Fantastic Raven, Respectability, Shipwreck and Coco Model, just to mention a few, there is little doubt that the final field will be of the highest calibre. And let us not forget that tomorrow at Goulburn, She’s A Pearl will be looking to join the qualifiers when she competes in the Goulburn final, and she does look a special from her favourable box one draw.

Last Saturday night at Wentworth Park, the finals of the National Distance and National Sprint Championship were run, and New South Wales representatives were successful in both races. The David Smith trained Super Estrella confirmed her status as the best stayer racing in the country at present, with a dominant all the way victory in the stayers’ race, again running within two lengths of the track record in winning. She really is a star. Whilst in the sprint, it was the Frank Hurst trained speedster Good Odds Cash, who displayed enormous courage to prevail in a very tight finish from fellow NSW runner Simply Limelight. A great night all round for New South Wales and wasn’t it great to see the series run to completion after two years of interruptions due to Covid. Now let us see if we can lead punters into a number of winners tonight across the country.

Sandown Park Race 1 No 2 Manuka Boy $4.20 at PlayUp – Lightly raced youngster who put in a massive performance on Sunday in the heat of this event, running home very strongly at the finish to just go down narrowly in running second. Drawn closer to the rail tonight should be an advantage, and he should be improved by his run last week, his first for almost five months. We think he an excellent each way bet tonight.

Sandown Park Race 2 No 2 Amron Dan $2.80 at PlayUp – His last three runs at The Meadows have been enormous, despite only recording one victory in those three runs. Loves racing near the rails, so is well drawn tonight, Very strong dog also. This field is not over strong, and he looks the best bet of the night for us, so make him your banker in all your multi bets tonight,

Albion Park Race 6 No 4 Ando’s A Thief $2.20 at PlayUp – Racing in career best form, winning her last four starts at Ipswich is fine fashion and all in fast time. Has raced well at this venue previously so, despite the poor draw, we think she can clear the pack early and allow her to lead all the way to record her 4th victory at the track.

Angle Park Race 6 No 7 Deadly Class $1.60 at PlayUp – Victorian greyhound who was outstanding in winning at Sandown Park last week. We think this dog is a potential top liner and future Group 1 winner, so he should be able to account for this Grade 5 field at Angle Park. Has the speed to cross and lead, and then it will be a matter of time and margins. Yes.

Sandown Park Race 9 No 3 Dookie Devil $3.30 at PlayUp – String winner at The Meadows two starts back in nice time before putting in a strong run here last week when finishing a close up third in similar grade race to this. Looks a very promising type. Drawn in get a nice cart into the race tonight and then should prove too strong in the closing stages. This greyhound may even develop into a promising stayer in the near future.

CHANCES ARE YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE.
