Tonight we are fortunate enough to have group racing in three states, New South Wales, Victoria and West Australia, providing a great opportunity for greyhound enthusiasts to see such great racing all on the one night. Over in the West at Mandurah, the final of the Group 2 GreyhoundsWA Birthday Cup (405m) will be run, in Victoria the final of the Group 2 Warragul Cup (460m) is the highlight of racing in that state, whilst in New South Wales at Wentworth Park five heats of the Group 1 National Derby (520m) and four heats of the National Futurity (520m) have both attracted outstanding entries for these restricted age events. Sensational racing across the board but finding winners for our followers is never easy when the fields are so even in ability as the majority of these races appear to be. But we think we have found a number that can help make for a nice weekend
Wentworth Park Race 1 No 7 Winlock Piper $5.00 at PlayUp – Raced seventeen times at this track and distance, for five wins and seven placings, and that experience will stand him in great stead in this race. Reliable beginner who has good speed to the first corner, and he will need to use that a he does like to get down to the rails. But we think he can achieve this and allow him to set up a winning break into the back straight. Each way value.
Wentworth Park Race 3 No 3 Zipping Orlando $2.45 at PlayUp – Highly talented greyhound who we have great admiration for. We identified him as a future group winner some months back and this may be his race. Has recorded some outstanding times in his wins at this venue. Had a freshen up since his luckless run here in December but he will be primed for this. Star qualities.
Wentworth Park Race 5 No 5 Victa Damian $3.50 at PlayUp – South Australian visitor who has been outstanding in his home state winning six of his nine career starts, recording fast times in doing so. Known to have trialled at this venue last week in very fast time. With a clean getaway at box rise, he simply won. Another star of the future.
Wentworth Park Race 8 No 5 Baby Jaycee $1.90 at PlayUp – Quality Victorian visitor who has been racing against the best in her home state and performing well. Had one start at this track for a very nice placing. Very reliable beginning and capable of running fast times on the lure. Yes.
Wentworth Park Race 9 No 1 Cruise Mode $2.35 at PlayUp – In the very strong Victorian kennel of Paul Abela and is racing in rare form. Her last three wins in her home state have been all won by big margins and in scintillating times. Trialled here last week in nice times and will benefit greatly from that run. Will lead and win. She is the best bet anywhere tonight so make her your banker in your multi bets.
Warragul Race 8 No 1 Landyn Bale Bet Now at PlayUp – Such a very even race but we have landed on our selection based mainly on the box draw. A greyhound with high speed he should be able to hold the lead in the mad dash to the first corner and that should enable him to win the race. Not quite each way odds at the moment but may well get there late in betting.
Mandurah Race 4 No 8 Panama Pepper $3.40 at PlayUp – Star performer across many states last year prior to a short let up leading in to this race. Excellent run in his heat and will benefit greatly from that run. Loves to get to the rails so draw may seem not ideal but he does have the speed to across the field we believe, so we see the draw as an advantage as he will cause interference to those inside we believe.
