Saturday selections from the PlayUp form analyst.
The Valley R3 #3 Inundation $2.00 at PlayUp – Very keen to see this horse back at the races today, a gelding who three from four starts last prep in amazing fashion. He beat a strong field over 1000m at Caulfield which included Squid Game who went on to win twice at Saturday level, and he beaten them by 3L eased down. Jump outs leading into this run have been solid, he draws well in barrier five and I think has the upside still compared to leading rivals.
The Valley R4 #10 Pink Cashmere $5.00 at PlayUp – Was very impressed with the debut win of this horse, and i’m willing to say she can go back to back here to start her career. The win was back in October on the Ballarat Synthetic track, and she walked in by over 4L and ran some extremely fast sectionals in the process. I like the fact that she has been freshened since then, and now returns with jump outs under her belt which would’ve kept her fitness up. I think she can easily measure up to this grade, from the right stable and looks to get a good midfield run from the draw.
The Valley R7 #6 Ceasar $7.00 at PlayUp – Third up and ready to peak here, especially drawn barrier one and mapping for a lovely run in the race. Form to Worsfold last start reads very well, that horse is smart and capable of winning in black type company. The run at Cranbourne behind Pal D’oro first up was likewise promising, and I think now at peak fitness he should be ready to win again. Will have every favour in the run on the fence with cover, and as long as the splits appear I think he will fight out the finish.
Randwick R1 #5 Platinum Jubilee $2.45 at PlayUp – Super excited to see this talented 2yo return to the races, off the back of what was an unbelievable win in the G3 Gimcrack back in October. She flew from a mile off them in running to win by over a length, and recorded some incredible sectionals in the process relevant to her age and class. Two trials leading into this new prep have both been strong, including the latest at Rosehill over 900m where she won by 3L. She clearly handles the dry ground as well as she handles wet, and her trials have proven her to be more versatile from the barriers. She should sit closer in the run today and can win again.
Randwick R10 #8 Show Some Decorum $8.00 at PlayUp – Think the market has completely missed this Melbourne visitor, who recorded a new career peak when winning first up at Pakenham in November. He sat midfield and tore away from them as if he was an even money favourite, running good sectionals and beating some handy horses. He has been kept fresh since then, and was kept up to the mark with a Mornington jump out as well. He has a great fresh record, maps for a cosy run midfield with cover, and the 2kg claim for Zac Lloyd is an added bonus.
