Saturday selections from the PlayUp form analyst

Flemington R1 #12 River Noire $2.20 at PlayUp – Very keen on this Moody runner, who was a smart debut winner at Moe around a month ago. She put over 4L on the field at the end, after leading at a very quick tempo and still managing to kick clear again in the straight. She ran the second fastest last 400m and 200m of the entire day, and recorded an overall figure that says she is a smart conveyance. Scratched from The Valley last week due to the track upgrade, she maps nicely here down the Flemington straight and can win again.

Flemington R4 #9 Desperado $5.00 at PlayUp – Strong first up winner at Warrnambool over 1400m, who I think is set to win again now getting to 1800m with added fitness on his side. The fresh victory was strong in the way he chased a hot speed, came wide and still ran meeting fastest sectionals through the line to win. This gelding raced upwards of 2000m back in NZ, so there is no concern with the sharp rise in trip. I like the wider draw, can settle midfield or beyond and be saved for a crack at them late.

Flemington R7 #6 Rose Quartz $1.90 at PlayUp – Comes here off a very good 2nd place in the Listed Doveton Stakes at Caulfield last start, where she finished under a length off a smart winner in Jigsaw. She got back that day off a very slow tempo, with Jigsaw leading them at a walk and winning as well so i’m convinced the pattern of the race was not in Rose Quartz’s favour. She ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of the entire meeting, and did very well to finish as close as she did. Fourth up, finds a better tempo here, and can be closer from the lower draw.

Randwick R6 #17 Tango Fame $17.00 at PlayUp – Going to speck one at a big price here, and thats Tango Fame coming off two solid runs this prep. I thought he was very good at Rosehill first up at a big price, sitting last a mile off the speed and flying home to get very close. Third fastest last 200m sectional of the meeting reads well, and it put him on the right foot for a good prep. His second up run was ok, that 1250m Kensington event looks a strong form race and he never really had any previous second up form to speak of. Worth noting he is one from one undefeated third up, and that was a big 4L victory as well. Maps well, no weight, have to play each way.

Randwick R9 #5 I Am Me $2.20 at PlayUp – Can’t believe there is even money available for this Maher and Eustace group winner in waiting, who has demolished her rivals in two wins this prep. She belted them in BM78 grade first pun over 1100m, and then put an even bigger space on them in BM88 company last time out. She comes to equal grade here over 1200m, which I think will be an even more ideal distance, and has drawn perfectly in barrier one as well. James McDonald hopping aboard here is a massive push within itself, and with the prefer dried track on offer she will be winning again.
