Midweek best bets from the PlayUp form analyst

Sandown R3 #6 Morpheus Bragi $7.00 at PlayUp – I have healthy respect for the favourite in Tasman Park, but I cannot figure out how they’re such a big difference in price. Morpheus Bragi was very good at Mornington on debut, running some very fast sectionals through the line which then set him up for a maiden win at Pakenham last start. That victory was in good time, and by a good margin as well and he looked like a smart horse in doing so. Clearly handles wet tracks, drawn perfectly in barrier three, and gets in very well at the weights after the claim. A 4kg difference between him and the favourite, could be enough to see him get the prize at a far better price.

Sandown R6 #8 Everglade $2.60 at PlayUp – Keen to give this horse another chance, coming off a seeming failure at The Valley last start in the LR Crockett. She sat on speed but dropped out sharply, perhaps not handling the very heavy track on that occasion, and other genuine excuses. Ger debut victory rated very highly also at The Valley, and if she is a chance to bounce back here on slightly better going she will be a huge chance. Will push forward from the low draw and land straight on the bunny, and could be mighty hard to get past.

Sandown R8 #13 Typical You $4.80 at PlayUp – A first up winner who could be set to go on with things here, and looks very well placed to step out to 1400m as well. The win at Cranbourne fresh was dominant, putting close to 2L on his rivals in sharp time for the day as well. That was off the back of an impressive maiden prep back in early winter, including a very strong run at Geelong on heavy going where he was unlucky not to finish closer. I’m basing that run as the form for this race, purely because it tells me he will handle the soft track here this afternoon. Maps well from barrier four, good winning chance.

Rosehill R2 #7 Tashi $8.00 at PlayUp – Going to speck this Snowden horse at a bit of a price, who resumes here and looks set for win number two. She was a debut winner as a 2yo at Kensington over the 1100m, coming from well off the speed to score impressively. She was immediately tipped out and given time to mature, and looks to have come back a more furnished performer. Given a very quiet Randwick trial leading in, but she looked to move well and the winner of that trial has since won on raceday too. Can get back and work into the race here, looks a great chance.

Rosehill R4 #6 Deep Snow $2.60 at PlayUp – Third up here and ready to peak, coming off two good minor placings so far this prep. He ran 2nd in a very close go at Taree first up, in a hard race over 1250m at BM85 level. He then finished behind Robusto at Randwick on Cup day a few weeks ago, and that runner has since been to Saturday grade. Gets a huge rider change with the booking of J McDonald signalling big winning intent, and maps perfectly on speed from the inside barrier.
