Massive night of greyhound racing tonight, right across Australia and New Zealand, with all Australian states holding their state finals of the Group 1 National Sprint and Group 1 National Distance Championships, and the New Zealand finals to be held at Addington. The winner of each of these finals then earns the right to compete in the two grand finals, which are to be held at Wentworth Park on Saturday 27 August, in what promises to be another outstanding night for the sport. Our followers should have very full pockets given the numbers of winners provided in recent times. Let us hope this form continues tonight as we provide our selections in each of the finals.
Addington New Zealand Sprint Final Race 9 No 8 Talbingo Bale $2.40 at PlayUp – Loves a wide draw, winning 3 from his 4 previous starts from this box. Should get the cart across from the 6 who has good speed but will find our selection too strong.
Addington New Zealand Distance Final Race 11 No 7 Opawa Anita $8.50 at PlayUp – First start over the staying trip but gives every indication she will run it right out. Eccentric record at this track over the shorter trips. Great each way odds.
Albion Park Qld Distance Final Race 5 No 2 Days Of Thunder $1.55 at PlayUp – Star stayer who has been racing in career best form since she returned from a trip to Melbourne mid-year. Gets back in her races so the small field is a bonus. Only bad luck can beat her.
Albion Park Qld Sprint Final Race 6 No 5 Shipwreck $2.60 at PlayUp – Can develop into the best sprinter in the country over the next six months. Zero luck here last week but still managed to make ground in the straight. If he stands up tonight, he wins. We think he is the best bet anywhere tonight, so make him your banker in all your multi bets.
Wentworth Park NSW Distance Final Race 5 No 1 Tiger Jack $3.10 at PlayUp – Finally draws an inside box after a string of wide draws. Drawing inside should allow him to sit much closer to the speed and then prove too strong in the run home. However, it is a very tough and even race.
Wentworth Park NSW Sprint Final Race 6 No 8 Good Odds Cash $3.90 at PlayUp – Very tough race this, so even. We are doubtful that the favourite, Simply Limelight, can hold the lead from his inside draw, and if that is the case, the race really opens up. Good Odds Cash is perfectly drawn to scoot across the field and lead, and once in front she can win.
Sandown Park Vic Distance Final Race 7 No 3 Jarick Bale $2.20 at PlayUp – Monster wins at his two most recent starts, confirming that he is a genuine stayer after a period of dominance over the middle distance. Can find the lead in this and that will be the race.
Sandown Park Vic Sprint Final Race 8 No 1 Zippy Tesla $2.10 at PlayUp – How big was his win last week in his heat. Massive. Chasing so hard. Perfectly drawn to position himself in a forward position. Strong as an ox. Yes.
Launceston Tas Distance Final Race 5 No 1 Dashing Pippa $1.70 at PlayUp – Powerful type who should handle the extra trip here. Strong winner his last two starts over a middle distance. Will be suited by the inside draw.
Launceston Tas Sprint Final Race 6 No 4 Just Posh $3.00 at PlayUp – Two outstanding wins from three starts since resuming from a break. Loves this venue. Fast breaker who can lead all the way in this.
Angle Park SA Distance Final Race 4 No 1 Fantastic Radley $1.50 at PlayUp – Simply keeps on winning. Many times we think he has been vulnerable, but he comes through. Well drawn again tonight so should be very close to the lead throughout. Very strong.
Angle Park SA Sprint Final Race 6 No 1 Came And Went $3.60 at PlayUp – Returned to his very best form here last week when he exploded from the boxes to lead all the way in nice time. A repeat of that stat will see him repeating the result. Quality performer when at his best.
Cannington WA Distance Final Race 1 No 4 Tsar Bell $1.95 at PlayUp – Ex Tasmanian performer who has been a sensation since moving to the West. Does get back in his races and can find trouble at times, but he stays so well that he can still get over them late regardless of what happens in the run.
Cannington WA Sprint Final Race 2 No 1 Vice Grip $3.90 at PlayUp – This is a super field. Vice Grip resumed last week after a short break and was outstanding in going down narrowly. Will have benefitted greatly from the run and can go one better tonight. Don’t leave him out of your multi.
