Greyhound Tips 4th March 2021

Back to some form of normality tonight after last Saturdays outstanding evening of racing at The Meadows where the West Australian star sprinter, Tommy Shelby, and the NSW super stayer, Stanley Road, both scores stunning victories in the Australian Cup and the Super Stayers. Tommy has proven himself to not only being a fast dog but also an iron dog with a great temperament, having travelled to Sydney, Hobart, Brisbane and finally Melbourne in the last 4 months to take on, and beat, the best on offer. Huge training effort by Steve Withers to keep the dog so focused throughout this long campaign. And Stanley Road, under the care of Paul Bartolo whilst down south, stamped himself as a true stayer who will be highly competitive in all that he competes in going forward. Two heats of a 5th Grade event over 600 metres at Albion Park, the final of the SA Launching Pad series at Angle Park, and a Grade 5 final at Dapto appear to the highlights of racing tonight, together with some interesting staying races as Albion Park, Sandown Park and Dapto should make for great viewing for punters. Now to find some winners.

Angle Park Race 2 No 7 Stanger Tides $1.65 at PlayUp – Worm Burner youngster who has performed well at his only two starts, without winning. Caught wide most of the way at his most recent start when second here but an empty box on his immediate inside tonight should allow him to find the lead and that should be the race. He is our best for the night and the mainstay of all your multi bets.

Sandown Park Race 3 No 7 Destruction $2.60 at PlayUp – Very lightly raced youngster who does look well placed in this event. Has good speed and this should see him head off the well fancied dog from box 6 in the all-important dash to the first corner. Broke 30 seconds at The Meadows in his latest win, so once on the lure he will take some real running down.

Dapto Race 6 No 2 Sound of Silence $2.60 at PlayUp – Has been running on strongly over 520 metres of late, so the step up tonight to 600 metres does look perfect. First run in a race around Dapto but in the astute hands of Frank Hurst who will have him primed for this event. Drawn to get into a handy position early and should prove too strong.

Albion Park Race 7 No 2 Tribal Magic $9.50 at PlayUp – Disappointing last week from the red box when we were on at nice odds. We are prepared to give her one more chance, again each way and again, because she looks nice value. We know with a clear run she has the ability, to be right in the finish of this event.

Warrnambool Race 4 No 5 Aston Value $2.25 at PlayUp – Looks a promising type. Very fast winner of a maiden recently at Geelong and a repeat of that effort will see her winning this. Did run second at first start on this track and she is trained locally, so will know the place backwards.
