Greyhound Tips 4th February 2021

Bullion, for sprinters, and the listed Gold Cup, for stayers. What super races they promise to be. Worth $150,00 to winning connections, the field for the Gold Bullion final is one of the best fields ever to grace the starter at Albion Park. You have seasoned stars like Shima Shine and Tommy Shelby doing battle with a couple of rising stars in Sentenced and Ninetymile King. We think the race will be decided in the first twenty metres, as many of these big races are. We are selecting the WA star in Tommy Shelby to take out another Group 1, adding to his recent Hobart Thousand success.

The Gold Cup has drawn together a very even field, with all eight runners having a genuine chance of victory. We selected Sir Truculent last week and he saluted at nice odds and we think he can repeat the dose and win again. Now in the hands of Tony Brett, Sir Truculent has dominated SA staying ranks over the last 12 months but since victory in the heat last week showed that he can hold his own in the major races interstate. From box 1 he should land in the first 3 and providing he avoids trouble, prove too strong.

Albion Park Race 1 No 7 Ringbark Ragnar $7.00 at PlayUp – Nice each way odds about this fellow and he should finish in the money we think. Not a good beginner but his field sense has been good in recent starts running strong placings. If he can avoid trouble in this, he can prove too strong in the run for the line.

Dapto Race 2 No 5 One Dimension $2.60 at PlayUp – Had her first start in a race here last week when finishing third after finding significant interference in the early stages but still hitting the line strongly. She will benefit enormously from that experience, and despite the awkward draw, we think she can land the cash tonight.

Sandown Race 2 No 8 Aston Titan $4.00 at PlayUp – Disappointing here last week, also from a wide draw, but we willing to give another chance. We believe he can lead tonight, with the dog in box 7 being desperate for the rails and therefore creating the space required for Aston Titan to show his speed to lead all the way.

Sandown Race 7 No 1 Aston Ulysses $2.70 at PlayUp – No better bred dog in Australia than this dog, being by rising sire Aston Dee Bee from the former champion stayer Sweet It Is. He comes to Sandown with very strong Meadows middle distance form and from the red box he should be able to lead all the way.

Hobart Race 10 No 1 Lily Lola $2.10 at PlayUp – Proven performer over the last two years on Tasmanian tracks, she is drawn to get the gun run from this inside draw and she should prove to strong for her opposition.
