Greyhound Tips 29th January 2021

What a great night of racing last night, especially at Albion Park where the heats of the stayers Gold Cup and the Gold Bullion were run. Both finals will be run next week and two wonderful fields will face the starter. Here’s Tears, the fastest heat winner, has been installed favourite in the Gold Cup Final, whilst outstanding Victorian sprinter Shima Shine appears likely to be the favourite in the Gold Bullion despite drawing poorly in Box 4.

If you followed our selections last night it would have further assisted your holdings as we again enjoyed a successful night. Sunset Bourbski, Sir Truculent and Nicmac Prince all saluted at nice odds, whilst our other two selections went down narrowly. We will attempt to do even better tonight. Across the country tonight we have heats of special events being held in all the states but no racing is of a group nature. But winners do exist and we think the following are all huge chances of success.

Bendigo Race 5 No 4 Jannila $1.90 at PlayUp – A member of an outstanding litter of short course specialists, this girl is a winner of 6 from just 8 starts including her last three in a row since resuming from a two month break from racing. She is not as quick from the boxes as some of her littermates, but she does have genuine speed once she gathers herself. This is her home track and it is hard to see her not saluting for the Massina family. Selections: 4-2-1-6.

Bendigo Race 8 No 8 Burn Time $3.90 at PlayUp – Despite taking on the current star of middle distance racing in Victoria in Mepunga Isla, we believe that Burn Tim is drawn to win on a track and at a distance that are ideal for him. Can Isla stay the extra 60 metres on a big track, is the question on punters lips. We are prepared to risk her and pump for Burn Time to cause a boil over and take out the event. Selections: 8-7-3-6.

Richmond Race 5 No 4 Sanctify $2.45 at PlayUp – This appears a very even race on paper at first glance but we are placing our faith in the magic hands of Peter Lagogiane to have Sanctify ready for his first attempt at a middle distance. He has been racing in very strong events at Wentworth Park in recent weeks during the Paws of Thunder series, and not being disgraced at all. We feel this fellow will appreciate the step up in distance. Selections: 4-1-2-3.

Sale Race 12 No 2 Cavernando $3.40 at PlayUp – Only recently resumed racing after a 4 month spell and he appears to have regained his old form. His four runs back since resuming have all been solid and this field is far from strong. We think he can jump straight to the front from his favourable draw and then hold them all at bay. Selections: 2-8-1-4.

Mandurah Race 2 No 6 Campini $3.40 at PlayUp – Despite being almost eligible for the age pension, we feel this fellow still has some wins left in his old legs, Began very well last start at Cannington but just couldn’t get across to the rails before he was shuffled out the back and finished unplaced in a high grade event. Empty box inside him tonight will be a huge help and he does love this track. 6-2-4-1.
