This Matthew McGuire 3-year-old gelding with Lacey Morrison in the saddle is the best bet of the day.
Stepped up to the 1200m last start at Bowen and looks to appreciate the extra 100m of todays 1300m maiden.
His last start here at his home track was over the unsuitable 1000m and he savaged the line.
Our best bet: Townsville Race 1, no. 3 – Impeacher $2.05 at PlayUp

Combattant De Rue $31 –> $14.00
This 6-year-old gelding out of the Kayla Russell yard with Krysten Swaffer in the saddle is the biggest go of the day.
It is easy to see why he looks to get the softest of leads and with Swaffers claim is just carrying the 51kg after carrying 57.5kg in a similar race here three starts ago. Look for him to bowl along and dictate, and kick upon straightening making the others carry their weight.
Smartest of money came as soon as the $31 was quoted and they were more than happy to take the next price of $21.
Still a very good each-way bet at the current $15 and $3.30.
