Racing Tips June 30th

Midweek selections from the PlayUp form expert, take a look down below.

Sandown Lakeside R2 #5 No Quarantine $7.00 at PlayUp  – Cracking 3yo bm64 coming up here, and in a host of chances I think backing No Quarantine each way is a good option. He won on debut at Sale last start, sitting wide up on speed, took the turn very awkwardly, but recovered to charge at the line and score by half a length. There was a huge gap back to third and fourth, and it was a high rating win as well. Will push to be on speed again here from the draw, which is always positive on the Lakeside surface, and looks to have the talent to go back to back.

Sandown Lakeside R5 #15 Halcyon Dame $4.60 at PlayUp – This mare has returned in outstanding form, coming here second-up off a dominant fresh victory. She was having her first start for almost a year at Ballarat on a heavy 8 over 1200m and settled well back in the field on a day where it was a huge advantage to be on speed. She overcame that bias with an electric turn of foot, running the fastest last 600m and 400m of the entire day to win by 2L eased down. She clearly loves wet going, fitter here second up and can be ridden closer from the draw.

Sandown Lakeside R8 #10 Ellis Park $6.00 at PlayUp Keen to back this Kah runner each way here, after a promising fresh run earlier this month at this Lakeside track over 1200m. He sat deep without cover in running there, covering an enormous amount of ground as they circled the bend. He stuck on very well through the line and although was no match for the winner, held the rest of the field easily. Definitely better for that run, returns here over 1400m which should suit and should be able to find a better position in running. The draw is wide at the moment, but with scratchings, he should come in nicely.

Warwick Farm R2 #4 Dragonstone $2.80 at PlayUp We were keen on this runner on debut, and although he didn’t win he was far from disappointing, going down only narrowly to two smart runners. Second, up here and with the benefit of race experience should be much improved. He has drawn wide, but with a very wet track expected that could easily be a positive rather than a negative. He has the race experience over a number of key rivals, and he will come in a few barrier spots after the scratching of some dual acceptors.

Warwick Farm R7 #16 Promise Of Success $1.40 at PlayUp This O’Shea horse returned in very good order the last start, bolting in at this track and trip on a heavy surface. Although only a maiden win, it came off only two trials and the European import was over two years between runs! An unbelievable training effort, combined with a horse that is clearly well above average. Second up now, and scary to think the improvement he will bring now with the race fitness back on his side. Gets a good draw, T Berry takes the ride and looks well up to these.
