Midweek racing selections from our PlayUp form analyst for the Sandown and Randwick meetings this Wednesday. Check them out below.
Sandown Lakeside:
R3 #13 Turaath $5.00 at PlayUp – Third up and looking to peak here under J Allen, coming off a very good effort at Geelong last start on a similar wet track. She was forced to sit three-wide no cover throughout the run, and as the leaders dropped off she continued to fight through the line and was only nailed in the last few strides. She gets a much better map here today from barrier two, and can easily atone for the last start with the softer run and added race fitness.
R5 #11 Barbie’s Fox $5.00 at PlayUp – Really hard to split this horse with Right You Are at the top of the market but have opted with Barbie’s Fox due to the better price on offer and the 6kg difference in the weights. She was very good on the Hillside circuit two runs back on a heavy deck and then settled in an impossible winning position in the Leilani final last time out at Flemington. Back to Sandown suits, she loves a heavy track and is ready to peak here third up with only the 54kg after the claim.
R7 #18 Rinnova $5.00 at PlayUp – Small bet on the resuming horse for the Hawkes team here, who only had the one run on debut before being immediately spelled in what looks a smart move for its future. It finished behind Hinto Blue at Pakenham over 1200m but was forced to sit back off the speed from a wide barrier and took a long time to wind up through the line. The sectionals she reeled off were outstanding, running the fastest last 400m & 200m of the day vs BM70 grade. Drawn low here suits, wet track unknown but she seems smart and happy to play.
Randwick Kensington
R2 #1 Beep Test $3.80 at PlayUp – Really keen on this horse, who was expected to win on debut at Gosford after trialling up very well leading into that race. She uncharacteristically missed the start and settled off the speed, a place where it is almost impossible to win from at Gosford. She was huge through the line and only just missed, and had she begun properly she would have won. Second up now with racetrack experience on her side, she looks a very smart filly and I can’t believe the price on offer.
R7 #3 Irish Angel $2.45 at PlayUp – Going for the horse that is a proven wet track and has outstanding form at the track and distance as well. Coming off a 2nd at Rosehill last time out on a similar heavy deck, Waller has her ready to peak here third up into the prep returning to the Kensington 1100m where she beat a very hand field at the back end of last prep. Drawn perfectly under H Bowman, and will have more fitness than some of her key rivals here.
