Midweek racing coming up here, with some cracking match ups on some rain impacted going around the country. Take a look at the PlayUp form analyst selections below, with tips for Sandown and Randwick Kensington.
Sandown R1 #13 Vilana $4.40 at PlayUp – Drawn a wide barrier here but that should be no concern, on a track that allows for runners to get back and build momentum through the line. He comes off a debut 2nd where he was forced back to inferior going on the fence in the final stages, and ran the fastest last 200m sectional of the entire day to end up just missing the winner. Second up now fitter and has race experience, and clearly handles a wet surface.
Sandown R3 #14 Elidi $4.40 at PlayUp – Third up into this race ready to peak, especially off a very unlucky effort on the Hillside surface last time out. After getting back in the field, she settled to the outside of the eventual winner. That winner stuck to the fence on the turn and saved all the ground, while Elidi went wide around horses and cost itself a few lengths. She still flew home in the last 200 metres, and would’ve won arguably if she had stuck alongside the fence. The step to a mile now is a huge positive, and a senior rider back on helps as well.
Sandown R5 #6 Veranskova $2.90 at PlayUp – Has been busting to win again since the maiden victory four starts back, and surely gets it chance here today. On a quick 7 day back up off a very solid and touch unlucky effort last week, but now with the low draw and easier race against her own sex, can be too good. Maps to get a very soft run from barrier three, and also handles the wet conditions very well.
Randwick Kensington R1 #5 Unwritten $3.00 at PlayUp – Second up here for the son of Written Tycoon, off a pleasing fresh run at this track over 1100m last time out. With added fitness he now steps to 1300m which should be very suitable, and most notably strikes a wet track which I think will be to his liking. He won a Rosehill trial leading into this prep on a heavy 8 over 1030m, and did it in comfortable style. He looks well placed in this maiden to start proceedings, and the booking of H Bowman is a big push, as he is riding in great form at the moment.
Randwick Kensington R5 #4 Sunrise Ruby $6.50 at PlayUp – Very surprised around the price of this M Beer runner, who comes into this undefeated 3 from 3 so far this preparation. Her first two victories at Albury were both on heavy 9 track conditions, which is exactly what she will find here. She then won a Highway race last time out in very impressive fashion, and looks well suited to this assignment now. She’s rock hard fit, handles heavy going, and is undefeated at the distance. She can steal this over some main competitors who come into this first up.
