R1 #4 British Columbia $2.50 at PlayUp
A very good minor placed effort behind a smart M Huglin horse last time out, this runner now looks to go one better and salute here over the 1400m. He sat up outside the lead last start on a good tempo, and was left a touch flat footed at the top of the straight. He worked home very well through the line though, with a huge gap to third and a time that was 4.5L quicker than class average. Step up in distance looks ideal, and is very well drawn from barrier two to be up on speed again.
R4 #9 My Whisper $6.00 at PlayUp
Surprised of the price for My Whisper here, who was a dominant last start maiden winner at Kilmore over 1200m. She got back in the field behind a slow tempo, and flew home late out wide to win, recording the fastest last 200m sectional of the entire day in doing so. Second up now and fitter, and the booking of J Kah is a huge positive push for its chances. I think the wide draw is suitable for her racing pattern, and she looks a great each way bet if she can replicate her last run.
R5 #10 Inverell $1.95 at PlayUp
Very keen to follow the progress of this Douglas runner, who was G1 competitive last prep before a spell. His first up win here a few weeks ago was simply dominant, putting the field away by close to 3L. He has clearly returned to racing in superb order, and I think bigger targets await him at the back end of the Autumn. Second up, and finds a very winnable BM70 here as well as stepping out to the mile. All things look in his favour, drawn well and J Kah retains the ride.
