Midweek selections from the PlayUp form analyst.
Sandown Lakeside R2 #6 Shakespeare $6.00 at PlayUp – horse was very good winning first up at Ballarat, rocketing home with the fastest last 400m and 200m sectionals of the entire program. It was a huge return for a horse who gets a trip, and put the writing on the board for a good prep. Narrowly defeated second up last start on heavy going, but third up here out to 2100m he looks a very good winning proposition.
Sandown Lakeside R4 #2 Awapuni Princess $5.50 at PlayUp – the odds here are too good to turn your nose up at, and although this horse is becoming a bookmakers best friend I’m sure we can get a win with her at a price. She was luckless in two runs at Caulfield earlier this prep, and didn’t have much go right last start either when faced with a really heavy track. The improving conditions here fourth up should be in her favour, and B Egan is a rider in form right now.
Sandown Lakeside R5 #14 Princess Annalise $4.60 at PlayUp – Ran very well first up at Cranbourne over 1000m to keep her unbeaten run in tact, and it was a very strong win too. She got back in running behind a slow tempo which didn’t help, but still managed to run some of the best closing sectionals of the day. Jump outs leading into that first up run indicated that she hasn’t missed a beat, and although faces a rise in grade and her toughest test to date I feel as though she is progressive and a definite winning chance.
Kensington R4 #6 Parlayed $1.80 at PlayUp – Dominant last start winner on a heavy Newcastle track, putting the field away by over 2L on the line. The Coolmore filly justified her short price and backed up a solid trial leading in, coming from behind midfield to score. Second up and will be much fitter now, can improve again here and is likely to go back to back with wins. Drawn nicely in barrier four, and looks to handle any track conditions with ease.
Kensington R8 #9 Transplant $10.00 at PlayUp – Keen to see this mare with a lot of potential resume here. Three trials leading in including a win and a last trial third behind Sonic Tycoon. Her first up form is good, two preps back was a dominant Kilmore winner and last prep was competitive in a Ballarat Magic Millions race. She debut’d in a Listed Adelaide and was far from disgraced. Three trials leading in will have her fit and ready to go, and can find better going from the wide draw.
