Another massive Saturday from Queensland with G1 racing returning to Eagle Farm. Some competitive events also from Caulfield, and our PlayUp form analyst has found you all the winners below.
Eagle Farm R4 #16 Exo Lady $8.00 at PlayUp – Very keen to back this Forster runner at a price here, a horse who I believe is unfairly marked at double figures by the market. She was very good winning the Listed Dalrello Stakes first up over the 1000m, and then was beaten only half a length behind Swiss Exile in the G2 Champagne Classic last start. She handed up the lead to Swiss Exile on that day, and I believe had she retained the front spot in running then the results would be reversed. Third up and ready to peak, drawn perfectly in barrier two and only carries the 55kg.
Eagle Farm R7 #3 Emerald Kingdom $15.00 at PlayUp – Very good last start winning The Archer at Rockhampton and pocketing a cool $275,000 in the process. He was definitely there to be beaten with only a furlong to go, but to his credit stuck on solid and won. The stable is definitely keen to get him back to the G1 Stradbroke, where he was only beaten 1.9L last year in a very close finish. If he wins or runs well in this key lead in race, which I think he can, he can book his ticket for this years edition.
Eagle Farm R9 #12 Entriviere $4.60 at PlayUp – Cracking edition of the G1 Kingsford Smith, and for mine the NZ mare looks the winner. She was outstanding in the G1 Doomben 10,000 last start, which has proven itself historically as a very good form reference for this race. She got back and flew home late from an impossible winning position to finish 0.6L off Mazu. The extra 100m here today will suit, and the wide draw is no negative because of her racing pattern. She is on track for a Stradbroke win as well in a fortnights time if she wins or runs well here.
Caulfield R4 #9 Miss Balvenie $9.00 at PlayUp – Really like the way this filly won at Horsham first up over 1100m, putting the field away rather effortlessly by over 1L on the line. She ran the second fastest last 200m of the day, and her last 600m time was 3L quicker than BM70 class average and she was only winning a BM64. She looks a progressive type from a leading stable, and gets a leading rider in B Prebble to steer on her city debut. Drawn very kindly in barrier four and only carries 54kg against a handy field.
Caulfield R5 #9 Awapuni Princess $12.00 at PlayUp – Almost a year to the day since we saw this horse produce an astonishing win here Caulfield over 1200m, and I feel the time is right for her to replicate that. She was extremely unlucky first up, seeing nothing but backsides for the entire of the Flemington straight after settling rearwards off a very slow tempo. She gets in very well after the claim again, and any rain around will increase her chances as she has a 4:2-2 record on the soft going.
