Saturday selections from the PlayUp form analyst.
Flemington R2 #10 Nasraawy $12.00 at PlayUp – Keen to play at value here, as I think those shorter in the market are too well found and are offering no real value. This horse was very good winning first up in easier company at Sale, flashing through the line to score in good time. He ran the fastest last 200m split of the entire meeting, and his last 400m split was close to 5L quicker than class average. Second up here, he will sit handy to the speed on the right side of the course near the grandstand, and has the ability to be right in the finish.
Flemington R3 #8 Anphina $3.60 at PlayUp – Coming off a very good effort at this track and distance last start, Anphina has a big chance to go one bigger and win here this afternoon. She got back in the field off a slow tempo, and flashed through the line only just missing. There looks a more solid tempo here today which should help, and I expect her to be able to park closer to the speed as well which should help seeing the rail is out +12m. She was far from disgraced on debut on a heavy track, so the wet conditions are no worries and Linda Meech retains the ride.
Flemington R5 #6 I Am Me $11.00 at PlayUp – Clearly looks the overlooked runner of the field, i’m very surprised about the odds on offer for her in this Listed event down the straight. She is a previous winner here over the 1100m, putting easier opposition to the sword and doing it in very good time as well. Her last start in the Listed Denise Joy Stakes can be put down to the wet track and her position in running. Freshened since, and should be serving it up to those in the market here.
Rosehill Gardens R1 #1 Osipenko $2.15 at PlayUp – A very impressive debut winner at big odds, overlooked by the market but proved them all wrong and blew away his opposition by close to 4L on the line. It was a handy race too, up against no slouches there over 1300m. He returns to the track and only rises an extra 100m which will be more positive than negative, and has drawn perfectly in barrier two. There looks no real threat in this race that could overturn the result, and with even luck I have him clearly going two from two to start his racing career.
Rosehill Gardens R7 #3 Dr Drill $4.40 at PlayUp – Racing very well this prep, was luckless first up at cricket score odds when he legitimately should’ve gone close to beating Ayrton at Caulfield over 1400m. That runner has since started well in the market in a G1 Stradbroke. Last start he only just missed at Scone on a bottomless track, and I think today third up off a little freshen will have him ready to peak. Drawn perfectly in barrier three, and back on top of the ground a huge positive as well.
