Racing Tips: 18th December

A great Saturday of racing coming up here punters, and our form expert has found five potential winners at Flemington and Royal Randwick. Check out the full selections below.

Flemington:

R2 #2 Squid Game $2.70 at PlayUp
A very impressive debut winner at Sandown, running strong closing sectionals even after sitting up on a hot tempo to put a smart maiden field away. The win rated very highly for the meeting, and he looks a smart conveyance now with even more improvement second up. Drawn perfectly for straight track racing, and holds weight in a very winnable benchmark race.
R6 #5 Second Slip $3.10 at PlayUp
A proven top level performer, who is working very well after not having much luck in listed level last time out. He saw little clear air behind Outlaws Revenge in the City of Marion stakes, but will be much fitter for that return to racing. He has won three second up starts from four attempts, and finds the perfect 1400m trip as well. Form behind I’m Thunderstruck in the G1 Toorak only three starts ago is very strong form for this.
R7 #5 It’sourtime $3.30 at PlayUp
Freshened since winning here down the straight over 1100m on the last day of the Melbourne Cup carnival, keen he can make it back to back victories now stepping to the 1200m. He sat up on a hot speed, and ran the fastest last 200m of the day to win last start, and any repeat of that effort has him right around the money again. I have him marked a $3.00 favourite on my prices and he should be winning again.
Randwick:

R2 #5 Starman $3.00 at PlayUp
Last start winner for Mcdonald and Waller, and looks well paced to make it back to back victories. He had trialled well leading into that first up victory, where he beat a handy field at Rosehill over 1200m. Drawn well, and although up in grade gets a drop in weight and the key is that J Mac sticks aboard here.
R6 #10 Bitcoin Baby $6.00 at PlayUp
Very interested in this last start midweek winner who will only carry 49kg in this race after the claim. She beat a BM72 field of her own sex last time out, but it was a strong win where she flew home and got the bob in. Sticks against her own sex today, and rises to Saturday grade with absolutely no weight on her back. Fillies in form tend to hold it, and with the low draw she has to be a huge chance.
