Saturday selections from the PlayUp form analyst
Flemington R5 #8 Rumbled Again $18.00 at PlayUp – Big price here but i’m very keen to back it each way, coming off a great return at Moonee Valley last start over 1200m. Got back in running there off an even tempo, which made it hard winning position especially at that track and distance. Straightened up the widest and flew home, ran the seventh fastest last 200m of the entire meeting through the line, and finished behind some very smart horses. Has placed in all three second up runs previously, drawn well, and the booking of B Shinn is a huge positive.
Flemington R8 #6 Kentucky Casanova $4.60 at PlayUp – Very keen to see the resumption of likely the smartest horse in the Huglin stable, who has jumped out very well leading into this return run. Is yet to miss a placing in seven career starts, which includes three strong wins at Caulfield, Sandown and Swan Hill on debut. His figures in those metro wins are solid, and he looks to map very well here from barrier five for the regular stable rider. This 1200m is his pet trip as well, so expect him to run very well even with the long break between races.
Flemington R9 #10 British Columbia $3.00 at PlayUp – Second up and ready to win, building off what was a very strong first up placing at Sandown behind Diamonds Inthe Sky. He sat midfield on a strong tempo there on Boxing Day, and made very good ground through the line. He finished with the third best last 200m sectional of the entire day, which is very impressive seeing how quickly they were going early in that race. Undefeated one from one at this stage of the prep, and maps perfectly from barrier three here.
Rosehill R4 #11 Cosmic Minerva $6.50 at PlayUp – Coming off a strong first up win at the provincials at Gosford, where he sat handy in running and put them away in terrific fashion. The horse he beat, King Of Naples, has since won as a very short favourite at Gosford again. Second up and will only be improved here, gets a chance at Rosehill for the first time. Needs luck from the wide draw, but gets in with little weight and with some smart riding from Ash Morgan it can be right on the money.
Rosehill R10 #3 Snapped $1.90 at PlayUp – Coming here off a dominant first up win at Sandown, where she put the field away by close to 3L on the line. She has clearly returned in excellent fashion, she ran a meeting fastest last 400m and 200m through the line against some quality horses. Second up here, and is undefeated one from one at this stage which was a dominant win at The Valley. She SP’d favourite at one stage in the G3 Typhoon Tracy, clearly indicating she has some talent. Up to Sydney first time, drawn the inside barrier, and can be winning again.
