Racing Tips: 12th November

Saturday selections from the PlayUp form analyst.

Cranbourne R5 #6 Cardigan Queen $4.60 at PlayUp – Was really good resuming at Geelong in a Listed race over 1200m, and I think should be set to go on with things here. She sat last in the field off an even tempo which didn’t really help her cause of running on, but managed to get around heels and flash home. Ran some of the best closing sectionals of the meeting, and the form out of that race looks strong. Second up here, out to 1400m is perfect, and maps closer from the midfield draw.

Cranbourne R6 #2 Victory Bay $4.80 at PlayUp – Was a very smart first up winner at Pakenham on the synthetic, taking care of a very handy field there which includes Kapanku who ran at The Valley on Friday night. He spotted the leaders a start there fresh, and they went very quick in front. He ran the fastest 400-200m split of the entire night when improving to chase, and still the 7th fastest last 200m of the night when winning and eased up on the line. Super impressive victory, and no reason it can’t be replicated or even improved on here.

Cranbourne R7 #9 Visinari $4.80 at PlayUp – Think this horse looks over the odds in the feature event of the afternoon, the Cranbourne Cup for 2022. Two runs this prep have been excellent, including a great first up Flemington win, and a strong last start fourth in a fast run race at The Valley behind My Oberon. That winner seemingly has a lot of talent, so i’m happy to say that it’s going to be a very strong form reference. Third up record is excellent, and should be pushed forward on speed from that barrier.

Newcastle R6 #4 Bonny Ezra $7.50 at PlayUp – This Waller runner was extremely unlucky first up, and think that now second up with added fitness he can go a few better. He got back to last behind a very slow tempo, and was shuffled even further back on the turn behind some tiring slow horses. He got clear late and savaged the line, but the race was all over and his winning chances gone. 5th best last 200m split of the entire day, and his last 600/400/200 times all way under benchmark average. Gets a huge rider change with J McDonald coming aboard, and maps much nicer from the low draw today.

Newcastle R8 #6 Vilana $5.00 at PlayUp – Flying this prep, and now third up is ready to get back into the winners stall. He was simply dominant first up in the Silver Eagle, winning with a leg in the air by a good margin and running some very good time in the process. He then drew the widest barrier in a field of 20 for the Golden Eagle, and statistically was an impossible task to win the race from that position. To be only beaten 4.5L is a great effort, and now comes here third up ready to peak from a much kinder barrier draw.
