Million Dollar Chase Semi Final Night

A super night of racing awaits punters tonight at Wentworth Park with the running of 8 semi-finals of the 2020 Million Dollar Chase, supported by 3 heats of the Group One Sydney Cup over the longer distance. Only the winners of the semi-finals proceed to next Saturday night’s final, where $1,000,000 will await that winner, so it will be cut throat racing at its very best. The winner from last year, Good Odds Harada, has drawn nicely in box 2 in heat 6, and he will have strong support to advance to the final again. Should he be successful next week, he would be become the greatest stakes earner in greyhound history. To finish off the evening, the 720m track record holder, Tornado Tears, has drawn box 8 in the final heat of the Sydney Cup, as he chases his 13th group race triumph. A victory in the final next week would see him become just the 6th greyhound in history to crack the magical million dollar mark.

Race 1 #2 Handsome Price $3.80 at PlayUp – Ex Tasmanian who won nicely last week at his first start on the track, and should be further improved by the run. Selections: 2-6-8-1.

Race 2 #2 Xerri $3.00 at PlayUp – The very speedy Xerri, from the Darryl Thomas kennel, is drawn to lead in what looks a quite even heat. Victorian visitor Weblec Ace appears the main danger. Selections: 2-4-7-1.

Race 3 #3 Tommy Shelby $1.65 at PlayUp – This star WA performer sprinter has been taking all before back in Perth in recent months. He has won here in fast time previously and he does look one of the best bets of the night. Selections: 2-6-8-7.

Race 4 #1 Shima Shine $1.50 at PlayUp – Runner up to Good Odds Harada in the final last year, he is drawn perfectly in box 1 to enable him to win his way into the final again. He ia a genuine star. Selections: 1-2-4-8.

Race 5 #5 Flying Ricciardo $2.10 at PlayUp – Only a youngster at just 22 months, but he just continues to raise the bar each time he sets foot upon a track. Despite the awkward draw, we feel he has the speed to find the lead and this should set up victory. Selections: 5-7-2-4.

Race 6 #5 Tennessee Tiger $5.50 at PlayUp – We are tipping against last year’s winner here, as we just feel that the draw favours the five dog. Simon Told Helen, box 4, is expected to lead, allowing TT to sit on him and then wear him down in the run home. Nice value. Selections: 5-2-4-7.

Race 7 #1 Winlock On Top $3.30 at PlayUp – Very tough and even heat. Box one brings this -dog right into the race with the two favourites both drawn poorly. Selections: 1-7-4-6.

Race 8 #1 Stinger Noir $4.80 at PlayUp – This Queensland galloper, now in the Jason Mackay kennel, simply loves the rails draw. He has the speed to hold his position in the run to the post the first time and once on the lure he will take a lot of running down. Selections: 1-4-3-2.

Race 9 #8 Blazing Cartier $5.00 at PlayUp – Despite taking on gun Sydney stayer Good Juan, we see this girl as the Best Bet of the Night. Desperately unlucky last week when checked half way, she is drawn to get the breaks tonight. Nice value. Selections: 8-4-1-7.

Race 10 #8 Here’s Tears $3.50 at PlayUp – Very good run last week when only run down in the last 20 metres by Good Juan, he has the speed to find the lead again tonight and should establish a winning break mid race. Selections: 8-7-4-5.

Race 11 #8 Tornado Tears $1.75 at PlayUp – Despite preferring a rails draw, his class will allow Tornado Tears to secure victory in the last race of the evening. Selections: 8-5-2-7.

THINK. IS THIS A BET YOU REALLY WANT TO PLACE?
