Midweek racing this Wednesday, check out PlayUp expert selections for action at Sandown and Kensington below.
Sandown Lakeside R1 #9 Entitled Princess $9.00 at PlayUp – Thought this horse represented great value in this opening race, coming off an extremely unlucky 5th place last start behind ultra impressive winner Bellinger. Although no horse was beating Bellinger that day on the Hillside, the run of Entitled Princess was extremely unlucky. She sat box seated in behind the pace, and entered the straight with absolutely no clear running room. Only around heels for the last 150m, she worked through the line extremely impressively. On debut she was likewise impressive through the line, and looks ready to peak here third up with even luck.
Sandown Lakeside R2 #2 Curran $4.20 at PlayUp & #1 Baby Boomer $4.80 at PlayUp – Playing right away from the favourite here who looks to be too short in the market. Two bets, firstly on Curran who was very gallant in defeat here last start behind the smart Tasmanian galloper, just pipped in the final stages. He holds weight here with the claim and can sit off a strong tempo from barrier 7. Fourth up, rock hard fit and racing in great form he could be the one to beat. Saving on the top weight Baby Boomer, who has looked very impressive in two jump outs leading into this debut for the new stable. He finished on the heels of Yulong Sovereign in a Camperdown trial, and that horse has since come out and blitzed his opposition on debut. The claim for Neindorf helps, and form last prep behind The Odyssey reads very well!
Sandown Lakeside R3 #7 Hot In Paris $4.20 at PlayUp – Racing very well this prep, and comes off a seriously unlucky 4th place last start behind Cirrina on the Hillside circuit. She meets that horse significantly better at the weights this attempt, and barring bad luck should be able to reverse the result. She beat Kiata first up who has since continued to run well, then finished 0.1L off Need New Friends over 1300m here at Lakeside, and that horse is since G3 placed. Form is stacking up, with a touch of luck from the barrier and this extra 100m to suit, she will be hard to beat.
Sandown Lakeside R7 #1 Excelman $3.90 at PlayUp – Very impressed with the fresh run of this horse lsat start at Cranbourne, coming from midfield and savaging the line to only miss by 0.2L officially. He ran the fastest last 200m split of the entire meeting off a good speed, and was in front only strides past the post. Second up now and fitter, holding 62kg but can obviously run well with the big weight. D Oliver steps aboard which is a huge positive, and should find another comfortable spot midfield in the run. Can win if presented at the right time.
Randwick Kensington R8 #3 Najmah $2.20 at PlayUp – Lightly raced 3yo for the Hawkes’ who comes off a very gallant 2nd in a strong race at Canterbury when resuming. Beaten only very narrowly on the line, she will have taken great improvement off that run. She managed to win her first two career starts last prep in very impressive fashion, including a 4L win on debut at Kembla, when the track was rated a heavy 8. She is certain to find very similar track conditions here today, and with the advantages of a run under her belt, expert her to be right in the finish.
